how has the drought conditions & in some counties the fireworks ban affected your New Year's eve fireworks plans?

ours is off completly ... we usually buy some & shoot 'em in the backyard. we are out of the city limits so it was legal. but not this year due to a county ban. Oh well, I'll save some $s.

Fireworks in Wise County this year should be treated like Drinking and Driving--- just don't do it. This whole county is a tinderbox and the Vol FD's are being run ragged putting out grass fires. There was one county resident who insisted on "shooting off" his fireworks and ended up starting a grass fire which burned up his neighbor's trailer. I like fireworks--but there is no way the "fun" equates to the possibility of property and/or life loss.

I think they should ban fireworks all over the state.

They are going off like crazy over here. Then again, they are legal anywhere and Germany is not in a drought. Either way, I told my son this year we would watch other people's fireworks!:D

i feel sorry for those firework stand workers and especially the owners who use their stand as part of their income every year. That sucks!

I've been thinking EXACTLY the same thing. I do however, see the need for the ban, as I'm sure you do as well.
