Just got back from Durango. The train trip was fantastic! If you ever have the opportunity to make this trip, you won't regret it. I highly recomend it! Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

Heres the web site;

http://www.durangotrain.com

Its definatly worth the trip, it took about 5 hours both ways wih a stop half way to stretch your legs. In the summer the train runs all the way to Silverton. Hope you can make it some day!:)

We were on the train about 4 1/2 hours, and got to run around on the frozen river for about 30 minutes while the train filled up with water (only one of my sons managed to fall through the ice and get his feet wet:rolleyes: )

Some day, you may also want to try the Cumbres & Toltec Narrow Gauge train that runs through Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado...it is very beautiful as well.

5 years ago my wife and I took my son when he was 5 on the Durango to Silverton trip. He loved trains and he loved that trip. We went in the summer and took a bus to Silverton in the morning. We rode the train back to Durango. The pics bring back memories.

I got to go on this trip 11 years ago during the summer, it was a lot of fun. If I remember right, we left at around 9 am that morning and we got back to Durango at around 7 pm that night, we stayed in Silverton for about an hour. It was a long but fun trip.
