Thanks WOS87. Some really good information. I had to sit back and smile at some of it such as the 98 season.

I was coming home from a football game the week that Liberty played Stafford in 1998. I tuned in to 99.9, the Liberty station, to try and get some scores and listen to the craziest 4th quarter of a football you can imagine. That was one wild game 64-63. Don't know if it broke any records but it was one that will be long remembered.

Wow the 1998 season had two crazy games, what is the highest scoring game by one team? I think i remember something about BH beating Deweyville 99-0 or around that.

was the '98 stafford game the game where liberty was down in the end of the 4th quarter, stafford had the game put away and was kneeling it to end it and the d-lineman swated the ball when it was snapped shooting it through the legs of the QB and runningback/saftey valve, then the liberty linebacker came around then end and picked it up and ran it in for a TD as time expired or was that a different one?....that game shouldve happened around then sometime....i remember listening to it on the radio, one of the craziest endings i heard of.....i figure u might know john...

on another note, i didnt realize liberty was 4a at one time....too bad they cant get the liberty/dayton rivalry fired back up, i heard it was brutal back in the day...i guess nowadays it would be dayton dominated though....that was one thing i liked about baytown when i moved, liberty never had a rivalry game as intense as the sterling/lee game, no matter how much sterling sucked..

i remember dayton-liberty........i mean honestly when i was four the first thing that i could rhyme was "we're number one, dayton is scum"......that's how intense that rivalry is.....

for any of you cuero/sinton rivalry people......or wos/bc people....take notes from dayton/liberty.....

i remember my uncle told me his senior year they sent a dead bronco head to dayton(their mascot) and painted it purple(their colors), and in return, a liberty eagle scout had just finished creating this pretty brick sign that is still in front of the high school when a bunch of dayton thugs came over and spray painted the whole thing purple...............then they came over and set fire to our field, torching the panther in the middle of it.....

you wanna know why they don't play each other anymore....no it's not because they're 4a and we're 3a, it's because the UIL imposed a 10 year ban on us playing each other in any UIL sport because our 2 head football coaches fought!!!

The two game series with Stafford in '98-99 adds up to a little over 32 TD's, with some change left over.....
There are alot of teams that can't score that many TD's in a whole season....
