Personally, I'm kinda glad. I'll be able to pick up the games in HD next year.

Cause it'll be on ESPN next year, and I'm sure they'll put it in HD. I think the games were in HD this year on ABC, but the local ABC affiliate has to be able to broadcast in HD, and they don't in Abilene.

I mean how can you tell the difference between High Def and regular.

There is a huge difference in the quality of the picture (not to mention sound). Watching a game in HD is awesome. The picture is ALOT more detailed.

Standard definition TV is 640 lines of resolution by 480. High Definition can either be 1280x720 progressively scanned lines, or 1920x1080 interlaced lines, currently. MNF was in HD this year and will be next as well. It's basically doubling or tripling the number of pixels in the picture, so on a well shot HD program, it can give the illusion of being there.

Holy Crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ESPN is paying 1 billion dollars for the rights to MNF.
ABC was paying $550,000,000.

Remember though ESPN and ABC are both owned by Disney. It was more of a programming choice on their part to move it to one of their cable networks.

But they're paying 1.1 billion per year...that comes to 62.5 million per game....that's crazy.

It's for 8 years and they are moving kickoff up to 7:30

I like that idea. It did get kind of late on some of those games. Plus, i would hate to be on the east coast staying up till 1230 to see the end of a game.

Thats good, 7:00 would even be better!
I usually end up missing the end of the games because I fall asleep in my lazy boy.

I bet the new one will end up being some kind of rap crap.
Guess I'll just have to wait till kickoff time to tune in.
