Found this on another site:

Tatum enrollment= 394 Celina Enrollment= 429

Interesting that the 3a small school state champion has a smaller enrollment than the 2a small school champion

Does 2A break up into DI and DII?

If so, why didn't Celina go DI?

I have been saying it all year. With the way towns are growing the UIL should realign every year. Its not fair to have a 500 person school in 2a going against much smaller schools.

Argyle was the DI rep in Celina's district.

Also, realigning every year is retarded. There's no good reason to do it, The schools that pass the cutoff mark will get moved up in the realignment. Don't forget that realignment means the committee has to get together and figure out the ratio that works best for their system for EVERY school.

Half of Celina's district is moving up to 3A, and the other half is the traditional district up there, and some of those schools only have wins on their records because thye play each other (S&S Consolidated, Callisburg...)

because Argyle (387 to Celina's 379 at last enrollment) is close to, if not over, 500 students and was the D1 rep

Yeah, I agree think that realigning every year is not a good idea. It's nice not having to speculate what the UIL is going to do every other year.

I know I'm going to sound like such a homer...but this speaks volumes of how really good this Tatum team was this year. We played many schools this year that were twice our size.

Just call us "The Little Town That Could"

not a bad arguement but it can't happen ... focusing all the needed resources, logistics, etc. on a realingment every year is too much.

as i've said before, the entire realignment issue is a very, very tough problem. and, i think the UIL does a great job at it. yes sometimes teams are perceived to get screwed, but some school will no matter what system is used.

if do don't like it don't come on here and bash the UIL --- well, go ahead, its interesting reading --- go visit your ISDs superintendant - he/she IS the UIL.
