Could this be it?

A pair of young Buckaroos play with the Breckenridge mascot during the fourth quarter of Breckenridge's' 34-13 win over Clyde during the afternoon game of the Gordon Wood Classic on Saturday, Spet. 3, 2005, at Gordon Wood Stadium in Brownwood.

certainly a homer here :D I couldn't find a picture of "Toby the Turkey" so here's my choice, and while some may not agree it's "the best"; most will have to agree it is original :) :)

Lots of construction going on over there in Lake Worth.....

I'm glad to see the the main street expanded to 3 lanes...it was long over due...now if we could just get the slow drivers in the right lane..we would be set!! LOL

As a buckaroo alumnus, I must say I love the picture. If i can find one with the face, I'll post it.

Back in my playing days, our district consisted of Aledo, Springtown, Glen Rose, Dublin, Lake Worth, Eastland, and us. Creative mascots were everywhere, with Pojo(porcupine), the bucks, the mavericks, and of course, Lions Tigers and Bullfrogs (oh my).

To me, the greatest mascot memory is playing in Lake Worth, as the team's run-through tunnel was a giant bullfrog crouched and ready.

Does Cuero get a live "Gobbler" on the sideline? If not they should get one and dye it green. That'd be funny.

First of all it's Yoemen. Not yeoman. Mr. and Mrs. Yoe donated the money to build Cameron's high school. Fittingly, the mascot was named the Yoemen.

How can you not like the Winters Blizzards? I like the Coleman Bluecats because they are supposed to be the only high school in America with a Bluecat as a mascot. A friend and I had a game we always played - one of us would name a town/school and the other had to guess the mascot. Competition was limited to 4A and below - at the time Sweetwater was 4A. We couldn't keep up with all the 5A schools in the big city. The Hereford Whitefaces and - yes the Port Lavaca Calhoun Sandcrabs were two other favorites

Has Hutto H.S. ever brought a real hippo to one of their games?

One co-worker of mine is a "sometimes" proud New Braunfels Unicorn. He takes my merciless teasing in style. According to him, Unicorns have magical powers and God help you if you ever get one cornered...

Man Griff, forgive me for butting in....But, really, wouldn't it be sort of difficult to bring a 10,000 pound animal into a stadium that craps every 30 seconds?

SWMustang

Couldn't they just go down to the Hippo store and bring one in?

no we have never had a real hippo at a game it would be cool to have it run across the feild when we score though
at the old hs they had hippo prints painted on the road down to the stadium
