Seems funny to me how some cities and towns publish, broadcast, have football websites.

Take for example Euless Trinity having a complete website JUST for their football program. And it's totally free to look at.

Some programs have internet radio broadcasts for all of their games.

In looking back over the last season, I found it difficult to get much information on Snyder and Tatum. This isn't a slam on those programs...but I'm wondering if they have plans to let the public know more about their team and towns? Maybe I just wasn't looking in the right places. I didn't want to pay for a subscription to the Snyder paper for one week.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

P.S. And by the way...I have read several comments about Tatum having boat loads of money over there..seems to me if you have the money, and the football history of Tatum, you could get a website for the team and not rely on a newspaper from somewhere else to post sub-standard photos and stories once a week for such a great team. Just my opinion.

its probably a matter of getting SOMEONE TO DO IT. it takes a commitment (time, someone's $) to put together & maintain a worthwhile web page

I believe Snyder's radio station will be doing web broadcasts next year.

You are correct - but I believe that it is coming. The district spent last year working on our new webpage and just got it up in April I believe. Since then it has been a work in progress, we just hired a technology specialist, and I believe one of her duties will be to update our web page.

Because of the $ Tatum has, we have a "boat load" of computers, but up until recently we really only had one technology person (and maybe a highschool kid or two helping)- It's hard to maintain all of that technology and keep up with the districts website. A few years ago we had a HS class that worked on our website - but that wasn't successful for some reason

Maybe I can find the Euless Trinity link and forward it to the powers that be

Greenwood doesn't have a website....and we are lucky to get a 2-line write up in the Midland "Distorter" Telegram.

I think we MAY have had a couple of games broadcasted this season though!

No offense RM....but I agree, ya'lls newspaper sux out there as far as getting any info on Greenwood.

I seem to recall that Snyder had a small website created for the Tigers. The thing that I thought was neat about it was some computer class put it together. It wasn't very flashy, but it was functional.

No. No. Duke is some kind of an acting school out their in San Fairysisco. Named after John Wayne I think.

It seems to me, this would be a great project for the journalism departments at all schools.
I assume most all schools have a journalism department don’t they?
Since more and more of us get our daily news via the internet, wouldn’t this be a logical solution. From here on out most kids going into journalism will be doing much of their work on a computer and in the internet anyway.
