Crap, we are top 5, number 5...

All I know that it is based on the percentage of people in the state who fell below the poverty level...

Examples are single persons making under $9,393.... Family of 8 with a household income under $35,572 and a family of 4 with a household income under $18,660...

D.C. leads the list with 29.6% of its child population (under 18) living in poverty...

Not that big of a surprise with the influx we have of immigrants. More jobs at home is what we need. Be nice to see more things with the "Made in the USA" label on them. Heck I would just as soon see it say "Made in Texas.":D

The only thing about "Made In The USA" is that it may not entirely be made in the US. There is a story about this I read where parts of a product are made in foreign countries and a small portion is made here. Check out a label next time you're in wally-world and see for yourself.

"Made in the USA" is over, except in terms of products built through automation and those which are too costly to ship. Check out what the Chinese average manufacturing wage is and ask yourself if you would work for that. As a matter of fact, the wages are so low that they are in massive violation of federal minimum wage standards here.

There are a number of Asian countries which don't pay much better.

Barring nuclear war to wipe China off the map, our standard of living will generally go down and theirs will go up until the two economies equalize.

Well shoot, this ruins my day. I thought I was middle class  but it looks like I'm poor.
