Hebron wins Class 4A Division II title in a shutout

AUSTIN – Six seasons ago, Hebron couldn't buy a victory. Now they're buying state championship rings.
Hebron won the Class 4A Division II state championship with a 28-0 shutout against Corpus Christi Calallen in front of 12,000 at Round Rock ISD Athletic Complex. Hebron finished its season 16-0 after going 0-10 in 2000.
Hebron's defense scored twice and held Calallen (14-2) to 202 total yards. Brandon Onu returned an interception 84 yards for a third-quarter touchdown, and DeMarcus McGriff scooped up a blocked punt and scampered 23 yards for Hebron's final score.
Offensively, Hebron's Brian Aubuchon jump-started a unit that sputtered in the first quarter. Aubuchon broke a tackle on a quarterback keeper and outraced Calallen defenders for a 40-yard touchdown run with 3:48 remaining in the second quarter.
Aubuchon rushed for two touchdowns and ran for 66 yards on 12 carries. Derke Robinson, who has orally committed to Arizona, finished with 102 yards on the ground. Hebron was 21-0 the last two seasons when Robinson rushed for 100 yards or more.
