Paratrooper

Well, today is my Birthday and I got a really good gift today. The Army was trying to screw me over making me go up to Alaska my last 2 years and since it was a 3 year tour they were going to make me go past my 20 years. (they weren't going to let me retire at 20) They gave me 80 days to sell my home, pack my things, leave my girl and establish a new life up in Alaska. Only for me to return in 3 years not having networked myself a job for when I retired. I would have to have left the one organization I do love and that is the 82nd Airborne Division. You can imagine I was stressed this week.
Well, today on my Birthday I got some good news. The branch manager saw my logic in leaving me a paratrooper and is going to fix it on Monday. My Chain of Command fully supported me and presently are getting the Commanding General to sign off on my operational deletion of orders going to Alaska and leaving me to be a Paratrooper. I now can rest somewhat easy and this has been about the best Birthday I could have had. :D
