Just wondering ... Is this the farthest Tatum has ever been in the playoffs? Have they ever won state or played in the championship game? I haven't heard much about their record.

Sweetwater hasn't been in the semi final game since 1991 when they lost to Carthage. Before that, we were state champs in 1985 and lost the semi final game to Dennison in 1984. I sure hope we can win this week! Go Mustangs!

Tatum lost to Sealy in the state final in 96. been to the semis a couple of times. Here is there last few decades records

1980-89 67-41-0 4- 4- 0
1990-99 92-27-2 7- 6- 0
2000-04 40-19-0 4- 2- 0

They are just like Sweetwater, they always have a good to almost great program, but always seem to run into a buzz saw in the play-offs.

Tatum has made the playoffs every year except once since 1993 -

The 1996 team started 0-4 and turned it around to make it to the State Championship game

Tatum has been a good to great program just like you guys, we have been on that cusp many times but for some reason or another just never have been able to win it all. I really thought my senior year was going to be the next oppurtunity to play for one after '96 when we played Sealy. We were playing Royse City in the 3rd round who was having their best year in school history. Well, after 4 or 5 turnovers in the first half and losing 32-0 going into the locker room, we came out and played the second half the way we should have played and lost 39-32. That sucks to be your last game just so you know, to lose to a team you and everyone else knows is not as good as you are. Oh well, so goes life. Anyway, yes Tatum is not your run of the mill school. Usually over the last ten years or so it's been Tatum, Daingerfield, Gilmer coming out of the Region II brackets.

I should be there tomorrow at the game. Plan on driving up from College Station and going to the game. By the way, what does M&G mean?
