Big 12 Player of the Year
Vince Young, QB Texas
And it isn't even close. Not only did Young lead the nation in pass efficiency, he was also one of the nation's better runners. Because of him, Texas walked through the Big 12 schedule and is playing for the national title.

Defensive Player of the Year
Rodrique Wright, DT Texas
Every knows about Vince Young and UT's top-ranked scoring offense, but the defense was tops in the Big 12, fourth in the nation in scoring D and sixth in total D. There were several key cogs in the machine, but Wright was the anchor making 46 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 13 tackles for loss and 15 quarterback hurries. Remember, he's a tackle.

willie andrews and maurice lane were both good at baylor but the big 12 interception leader cj wilson had a better season than both of them, and wideout/kick returner shaun rochon did as well, so did wide out dominque zeigler....just looks like a team of who had the best name at most schools.....
