I just finished updating my Statewide stats on another site and whipped this up just using records of 3A teams....

and for the record... I would like to point out that no other 3A team in Southeast Texas has more wins this decade than Barbers Hill...Good Job Eagles!!

Teams in bold are still alive in the playoffs as of 12/4/05

ya and that doesnt include '85, which is arguably the best team to ever come out of Sweetwater, who was something like 14-1-0, but those arent exact figures. I know we only had one loss and one the State title but the wins might be off.

That is one reason I am proud to be a Sweetwater Mustang!!!

the 1985 team from Sweetwater had a record of
13-1-1
they lost to Abilene High at Shotwell
and tied Austin Westlake(21-21) in the Semi Finals but advanced to the State Title game on penetrations, of course this was pre overtime.
in the 4A State Title game Sweetwater Beat Tomball 17-7 at TCU's Amon Carter Std.

I lot of those came in 4a for jasper. It would take to much time but I would like to see a win pct against 3a teams. Even now in 3a all of our pre-district games are against 4a except newton.

... and WO-S.

WO-S's wins also are mostly 5A and 4A except for the last two years.

In the past 20 seasons Jasper has a 33-10-0 record against 3A teams with 5 of those losses in the past 2 seasons (BC & WOS in '05, Gilmer, Silsbee & Kville in '04, Burnet in '03 and '02, Newton in '00, and Cleveland in '98 and '99). Prior to '98 Jasper only had 4A, 5A, out-of-state and private school opponents all the way back until 1979.

WO-S in the same period has a 20-3-0 record against 3A opponents. (losses being to Wimberley in '05, Huffman and Jasper in '04)

Is this for total wins, playoff wins, or exactly what? I know most of our wins had to be 4A since 2000, as this is only our 2nd year in 3A since 1976, if I remember correctly.

It's just comparing total wins for various time periods of every team that is currently 3A (2004-2006 realignment) including all wins from whatevever classification they've been in in the past...

compiling win totals of ALL teams that have ever been in 3A ONLY while they were in 3A would be a difficult undertaking....

Vernon has really fallen off as of the last ten years. We have had only 2 really good teams in the past 6 years.
