That is shocking that there is no Forney in there...their record isn't as good as others..but they have played top big schools from Texas and Lousiana..

Bridge City was dropped from 7th place for losing to 6th ranked 4A Jasper......Maybe Forney played up also and got beat by a good higher classification team....Play bad 2A's and keep an undefeated record and you too can be at the top of the list!

Gobblers lose second District 29 game to Industrial 4-3. Gobblers record 9-3.

Oldbuff Bellville beat 1A Shiner 10-0.

I agree with you Old Card! Too many teams, in many sports, play easy 3A's or 2A's and get their record puffed up, and get high rankings. I follow Abilene Wylie, and they have played almost exclusively 4A and 5A teams in 3 different tournaments, along with regular week day games. Beat most of them, but with 3 losses to go with 14 wins, the team record doesn't tell it all. You'd like the kids to get rewarded in the polls, but I know their coaches are telling teams like we've mentioned that the polls mean nothing until the end!!

Hard to believe that with a 14-3 record against mostly 4A and 5A teams that Wylie is not rated. 14-3 is better than the top 3 rated teams. Doesnt make sense to me. Seems like the coachs dont have much faith in Wylie or something.

To FBFAN: Maybe we should copy a little of the system that prevails in Louisiana. That is, the teams that play up and seek out good quality teams to play have several statewide tournments to pit like classifications that have played exceptionally hard scrimmages and preseasons. That takes place toward the end of the preseason. Bridge City gets invited to play in the big Lake Charles one each year. Sounds like Wylie , BC and a half-dozen other 3A teams, fit that category for a great Texas preseason tournament. Then we could have a "Power Poll" totally separate from the Play-easy Polls that prevail in 3A presently.

Sinton has played some good 4-A and 5-A teams, folks. In baseball, region 4 is just as stong as any other region out there. Gonzales should be recognized, I think. They started very strong. Haven't kept track of them the last week or two, though. Polls are still polls, not all that accurate in the playoffs.

Old Cardinal all the Region 4 teams listed in the top 10 have been state champs or finalist in the last 12 years. They regularly play 4A and 5A schools on a regular Basis and consistently advance far in the playoffs. LaGrange or Sinton will be in in the Final 4.

Sounds like Sinton, LaGrange and several others in the top ten would be prime candidates to be in a select team tournament. I agree region 4 has strong baseball.

THey see that Forney is now in district play and will run-rule everybody and Segovia will strikeout everybody!! Just kidding! Not sure why they originally dropped out of Top 10!

They might have had some injury problems or something to some star players.
For them to jump back in the top 10 at #4 it must be a hoss.
