Wimberley will win State. Their defense is VERY good and will oveercome any offensive issues. If they had a really good QB, they would be even better.

Hasn't Region IV had a representative in the state title game now 4 years in a row? Burnet, Burnet, Cuero, & Wimberly? Maybe Region IV teams aren't a joke afterall!

Probably the real reason Region 4 gets little respect from some of the media is because we don't have big schools in 5A get very far. To get respect we need to have some state championships from schools in Corpus Christi, Laredo and the Valley. The area got a lot of respect back when Corpus Christi Ray won State in 1959 and Corpus Chrisit Miller in 1960.

Maybe in 10 or 15 years the valley will get some teams to go deeper in the playoffs. The valley is growing like a wildfire. Right now there is alot of talk that Hidalgo, Pharr Valley View, and La Feria have the chance to move to 4a. PSJA Memorial will move to 5a next realignment. Weslaco East might move to 5a and La Joya is splitting into 2 high schools. Weslaco just built 2 new Elementary schools about 2 years ago and they are already full. Its growing so fast that I am trying to get out.
