Yes there is a connection, while T-Mac was out defenses went after Yao to stop him from scoring no one else stepped up with T-Mac back defenses has a problem to stop him and Yao. While T-Mac was out it was hard for the guards to get the ball to Yao with him in there T-Mac can create shots for himself and Yao thats because T-Mac has the ball in his hands and Yao don't.
