GJ Kinne has to be the MVP. no one else this year has had to deal with what he has had to deal with and he still put up hugh numbers.

I think a factor to decide this should be that if one leads their team to a state title, that should play a huge role in the decision. Keenum already proved that last year, but it should be this year's stats and results. I was wondering why there were only 2 rb's on the list? I've heard about many awesome backs and only 2 are listed?

Maybe because a poll only allows 10 spots?

It's not an official thing, just the names of the guys that I've heard have made their teams go. I was just throwing these names out there.

Those two RB's are listed because they make their offenses go. Noack, on the other hand, has two or three great backs to hand it off to. One of those kids is going to play in the Big XII and the other will go on to play college ball at some level, but even though they're the hosses of the offense it seems like Noack is the key.

If you can think of any other RB's that belong up there, post them on here.

Actually, I think the QB from Canyon was second as far as anyone knows. Not 100% sure on this one, though. Comprehensive HS stats are hard to come by.

Any Cuero posters know how many passing yards your boy has?

I would love for Noack to take it but i would have to go with the Canton qb. He is putting up some awesoem numbers and leading his team deep into the playoffs.

I saw that in the program the other day. They lose a lot of speed but they do bring a whole lot back. Should be pretty good again next year, a la Sinton 2002.

Kenneth "Deon" Beasley:
1,731 yards passing with 8 INTs and 22 TDs
1,341 yards rushing with 22 TDs
One 99-yard kickoff return TD
3,072 total yards, 45 total touchdowns

Returned from a hurricane that almost ended the team's season. Extremely loyal. Blew off offers from other SETX teams to play while WO-S was out of school, even if that meant his season ending.

Well whaddya know. Kinne "only" has 2,135 yards, dropping him back to fifth as far as we know. Ramos of Canyon leads everyone with 3,357 yds, but Bridgeport's QB is only 39 yards back. That's some offense they have up in Wise County.

By the way, according to this (http://coach.thsca.com/StandingsStats.asp?action=search&nav=Pressbox&menu=03&category=stats&type=off) site, Colin Jones is fourth in the state in rushing with 1,611 yds and third in the state in receiving with 1,044 yds. 32 total TDs. Not bad at all.

Oh, and forgot all about Matt Escamilla at LH. He actually has more rushing yards than Kociuba.

Beasley is an Army All-American and Parade POY candidate. He was the only 3A player in DCTF's Super Team starting lineup.

On D, he plays sparingly despite being the #7 CB prospect in the nation according to rivals.com. He has already committed to Texas.

No disrespect to Colin because I haven't seen them play this yr. But, if you look at team stats, Bridgeport has the 2nd leading passer in the state ( yds. wise) and 2 of the top 3 receivers (yds. wise). That's like giving the Heisman to a QB from TX Tech, ain't gonna happen because of the system. Didn't they also have 5 losses? Now I have seen WOS play, particularly against Giddings, and if you take Beasley off the team, they may not make the playoffs. He is the real deal. They sure wouldn't be anywhere close to 11-0. Kinne, haven't seen this year, but from what I hear can't go wrong with that pick either.

Evans from Yoe, although a good player, didn't slow that team down after he was out. All teams left have great TEAMS, if you take a star off they still have a chance to win, except WOS. If you haven't seen Beasley and Co. play, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Derrick only played defense one game. That was against Hempstead. Both of his INTs were in that game. I have to agree though, I've got much love for Brian Scott but I think Derrick should be on that list.

Simma down now, Yoe fans. I just threw in Scott because he was the name I kept hearing. This isn't a scientific poll weighing everyone's stats against everyone else's with full scouting reports and 40 times. Took me less than five minutes to come up with this.

I just put the nine guys I kept hearing about first, then I remembered hearing about some kid from L-E who was supposed to be really good so I googled that. 303App saw the list, it looked as good as any, and he threw 'em in a poll. Not exactly the best list anyone could've come up with but at the same time there's a 99% chance the AP award will go to one of these guys. Only others I could see them giving it to (not trying to slight Evans at all, but WRs just don't get the love that QBs and RBs do) are the QB from Canton, one of the Cuero RBs, or Escamilla from LH.

you guys left off probably the best statistic player in 3A. Ramos from Canyon, over 3300 passing 32 TD's 2 INT's, over 700 rushing. He at least needs to be on the list.

Colin Jones final numbers after last night's game

1844 yds rushing (141 ypg)
1278 yds receiving (98.3 ypg)
total of 3122 all purpose yards with 38 TDs (2.9 TDs pg)...

All of this done on a team that went 7-6.

Good job TCU... You are probably going to get a good one.

Not to downplay that achievement, because it's great, but the finalists for the Wendy's HS Heisman haven't been chosen even on the state level. I went and looked up the "nominee" list and there are thousands and thousands of nominees. I just looked at the TEXAS list and counted 160 whose names were just between A through C. I stopped at the first name that started with a D.

Again, congrats to those kids, but let's not overstate it.

Dishon is a big time player. All year the Bridge City offense was putting up unreal numbers. Once his car accident happened, the Bridge City offense had trouble moving the ball against Hutto. There is no way BC would have blanked Jasper without this guy at the helm. He makes that big of an impact on the game. Course, he is only a junior, so I think he gets the nod next year.

Dishon will be a candidate next year, but the numbers weren't quite there this year. He was definitely the spark and the leader, but some of the guys on this list had double the numbers he put up. Look out next year, though.

I got to go with GJ Kinne. He's an awesome athlete and made some spectacular plays this year. I think his stats prove that. I'm going to add someone though. Barlow Reid, the running back for Canton, has 1273 rushing yards and 10 TDs on 138 carries. He has 53 receptions for 560 yards and 4 TDs for a total of 1833 yards of offense this season. He also has a kickoff return for a TD this year. I think he's been the biggest difference in the Canton offense this season.
