many of you heard me doing the halftime shows reporting scores and occasionally doing in game updates. my voice right now is shot as well.

a little known fact that many do not know is, Terry works for me. some of the production costs and expenses will be coming out of my pocket.

now I fought long and hard for more than a week to get the rights to even broadcast those games. On top of dealing with Texas Stadium personnel, the school districts and obeying the UIL's guidelines with playoff broadcasts.

I take it personally when someone complains about a FREE service such as my site and the broadcasts. You don't see the magazine doing these games on radio nor do you see any of the other major high school football exclusive sites.

If you have an issue drop me a line, I am not hard to find.

You try consistently talking and being enthusastic for nine straight hours, sometimes without a roster until halfway through the first quarter because the schools didn't get them to the press box in time.

You try doing the research on 12 teams, when you don't know that you're doing a game until Wednesday. I'm a writer, and I know for a fact that newspaper websites don't have everything that you want, and you have to live with it sometimes.

You try pronouncing all of the Samoan kids last names correctly (at Trinity).

And then, finally, you try finding another broadcast crew with the balls to even attempt a six-game weekend. I dare you. Where are they?

I did this entirely as a volunteer effort this weekend, and I did this because I have fun while the kids are having fun. But I'll give you a freaking punt analysis and try and describe proper blocking over the radio sometimes too.

This is probably my most serious post on the DownLow ever, and I think that most of them can agree that we should either have fun or shut the hell up.

I'm going to have a beverage now.

Up... This is where i went wrong... Cant complain about volunteers... If you did this for a living or got paid by texashsfootball.com totally different story .. I stand corrected..

my main problem is I actually had to stop what i was doing to set through the nonsense to get the facts.. that's the problem.. It's really a constructive complaint.. Sorry for some confusion.. if you can listen to it.. Listen to it and you'll understand where im coming from...

my first posts were strong worded and apologize .. I hate it when people start backpeddling... Opinions are just that, opinions. why backpeddle if you like or dont like something.. either it will be noted or tossed out.. ie ..my opinion lol...

I am not a volunteer. I have a degree in Radio/Television. I have been broadcasting for almost 5 years now. I have broadcast everything from 1A football to college football, and all sports in between including a NAIA Final Four. I have even broadcast a State band competiton.

This past year alone I have broadcast 26 games, over the past two years I have broadcast almost 70 games in HS football and college football including a State Championship.

In saying all that, I know as a broadcaster I can not please everyone all the time. Just like any coach or someone working at the supermarket, no matter what I do or say on the broadcasts, someone will not be happy.

I respect that, and always look for constructive criticism. My only question about your complaint is you said you we did not get the facts out and I will disagree. Did we do cheesy things yes..did we try to have fun on the air, of course, and will never change that. But what we also did was keep the listener informed of not only the play, but also the subtext of the game.

We had up to the minute stats, including how hot or cold the QB was, 3rd down conversions, and trends of the game etc. We talked about the key blocks that made the big play happen, or the mistakes that made a play go bad. We discussed the strategy of the game such as time managment and certain plays run at certain times. We tried to name every kid who did anything worth being mentioned good or bad.

It is not like we were doing a stand up routine and then would say oh yea by the way 5 yard gain.

I gave formations on every play, I know alot of play-by-play guys who on the radio will simply say something to effect of the offense comes to the line snaps the ball hands off 5 yard game.

I will not ever do that. I want to describe every second of every play if I can. I get excited, I sometimes say stupid stuff, but I also treat my job with respect and professionalism. This is my way of life.

Again I have no ego, if you do not like my style then no problem to each his own, but I will also disagree if I think something someone is saying about broadcasts are incorrect.

I wouldn't worry about it, its just one guy who is mad because his district can no longer be called "the best in state".. I, like alot of other people enjoyed your broadcast, and hope to hear u guys do another game of ours soon..

I am not worried about any critic until the i am accused of not having proffesionalism in the booth. I might not be serious with a monotone voice, but I take my job seriously, and with passion. Sometimes that passion goes overboard, but I will not apologize for that. I have had to many players, coaches, and fans say how much they enjoy my touchdown calls because I get excited.

Once again I will take any constructive comment, I enjoy feedback, good or bad. But if I disagree with the comment whether it is a good one or a bad one i will speak my mind.

Every game I've ever listened to from these guys, I have thoroughly enjoyed. They like to have fun and there is nothing wrong with that. They also are very informative and to me, listening to their broadcasts is the next best thing to being at the game. Keep up the good work! :)

And i definitely expect you to man... I hated that it came out like i blast you guys but... I wasnt the only one that said something..lol.. So when yoursaying its a personal thing .. its not.. its not my style.. your right... i just want to hear the game and that's fine... I would rather be doing some work and listen and not have to be strained on it... Take it or leave it just a comment like you said...

I was listening in the 3rd qtr right after gainsville scored... 4:20 left in the game... The play by play wasnt bad it was the other stuff.. Sometimes wasnt even related to the game... The play by play was excellent when something happen but the other stuff was ridiculous. Take as grain of salt and get over it...

Keith Please..lol.. Look at my past comments about our district.. and you'll find that's not true... You cant compare districts or teams or anything... STate is way to big...

Just so you (and the others) know, during the broadcasts, they are not ONLY broadcasting a game for all to listen to, but also participating in two separate chat rooms (2 that I know of). This is where some of the non-related stuff comes from. (ex: "No, pavilion, I'm not going to give you a shout-out.")

Let me say this and i could be giving up here..lol but here's the deal... You cant judge a book by its cover right... I came in at 420 left in the 3 qtr.. and I listened to probably .. maybe 10 minutes... in that time i heard that there was a pass to edwards that was dropped and the bigpass down the middle of the field to a gainsville receiver.... 10 minutes and i judged the whole broadcast .. I didnt get to the end of qtr to hear the dynamic stat run down... lol... I didnt have any real commentment to the game ... What wylie did good or bad didnt really matter.. and so I was a casual listener that just got turned off real fast... If i listened from the start it might have been different and So with this i apologize...
