With any luck there is. Maybe A&M can pick up Gene Chizik and bring back the old Wrecking Crew back to College Station.

But I haven't heard anything like that. The guy needs a new start, so maybe this is what he needs. His stints at New Mexico and TCU weren't flukes, and Bama had started their turnaround when he left. He knows how to coach, I guess he forgot to pack it when he left Tuscaloosa.

I know alot of people here that would be willing to put up the plane fare for that to happen.

A&M will never have the kind of success it had as a pro team unless it can figure out how to go pro again.

No offense to Aggies, but College Station, Texas, is not exactly the most glamorous place to which to bring a player on a recruiting trip.

It would look fascinating and exotic to a recruit from a rural community like Gilmer, but not from most places.

few objects in the way...

1. He's a proved winner, he's won at other stomping grounds before, that being said i think that he will be given at least the customary five years for proven coaches before he's ousted

2. Kim Franchione spoke heavily in saying that this was his absolute last coaching stop. She's tired of moving, plus their son coaches 40 minutes down the road at Blinn.

3. He just donated or pleged 1.0 million to the building of an indoor facility. He want's to be here for the long haul

That all being said....i am willing to give him another year, but i'm not willing to give carl torbush anything, he needs to be gone...

i have to agree with AJ, I dont see him leaving this year plus my mom and CHS_grad work for A&M i think they would probably have heard rumors if it were goin around.

If they give Franochio another year or two, he'll be there for the long haul, because he has a QB that's going to make him look like a genius in the next few years...

Fran isnt a pimple on the rearend fo Snyder. All of Frans success came at joke schools. He wasnt at Alabama long enough to show anything. Look what his successor there has done. A decent to good coach can get it done at a big state school like Bama. Just like a decent to good coach could get it done at collie station youd think.

Quite the contrary Injured....A healthy, strong in-state rivalry would be good for both schools and the state of Texas....just like the whole FSU, Florida, Miami thing. If both A&M and UT were both top 10-15 each year and the Thanksgiving day game actually meant something.....it would be a tremendous atmosphere for recruiting and keeping kids in-state etc...In the long run BOTH schools would reap the benefits.
