WOS Vs Giddings

This will be a heck of a game.
The score will end up 52-48 WOS over Giddings.
Giddings moves the ball at will but there D can be scored
upon. WOS is solid and I expect them to explot the Buffalos
defense. Who ever scores last will win.
I think WOS will win in a shootout but it would not
suprise me if Giddings pulled it out.

It will be a good one. I'm hoping our defense is starting to peak now. Our Defense against Palestine looked like the good ole days, hopefully it will continue. I don't think our DC will allow our players to give up 48 though, just don't think that will happen.

I am sure quite a few have said that about their DC, and their defense...Not saying you can't do it, but they will surprise you.

I haven't seen Giddings play but one time several years ago against Newton. I was very impressed with their program. I know they have underwent some turmoil and coaching changes of late, but expect they will be a very tough opponent for the Mustangs this week. WO-S is not what they have been in the past defensively, but their offense is as good as I can remember seeing them and I have been watching them since the mid 80's. Going to have to score a lot of points to beat the Mustangs is what I think.

I got a real close up look at Giddings a week ago.
I saw Cameron play Bellville and was Impressed
by the Yoe O. Rice had a really good QB and a nice line
but what I saw was an offense that couldnt be stopped.
Giddings ran 3 plays that night and we knew they were comming
and there wasnt a darn thing the D could do. That QB #5
is so fast and cuts on a dime and in a flash he is gone.
If the coaching staff at WOS watched Giddings play
Waco Connally on Friday they would know that you have to make the Buffalos pass by putting more LB's on the line but if you break the initial line it will be a long run for a TD. This will not be an easy task.

Oh yea, they were there. Watched films all day today. One good thing our defense has always been very quick.

Seems that they play well in spurts. Looked awesome against BC in the half I saw..understand they weren't as good 2nd half. Against Huffman the defense made some big plays but let a very average offense in Huffman move the ball down the field quite often. Sounds like last week was a different story.

It was and i hope we're peaking. The kids know they have to play defense now. Coach Thompson say's they'll be ready and i think they will.

thing is, if you MAKE Giddings pass, that just means they'll score quicker. They were 4 of 4 for 130 yards against Connally. THREE of those completions were for touchdowns. They don't throw because they don't have to but when they do, look out.

Their QB sounds very athletic, and I'm sure he's a good passer as he is a very good runner -- plus, they have a lot of other talented players to complement him. Should be a good game!

sounds like a good spread, but i don't think it will be high scoring, especially since giddings just tries to run right down your throat.

For WOS to win Friday they'll have to score 40+ points to win. If you run the spread like WOS does and do not face an offense like Giddings runs several times during the year then you are at a big disadvantage.

Very few teams run the option with the kids that the Buff's have. They have a 240 lb FB, about 3 other RB's that run sub 4.5 40's, a qb that probably runs 4.4 and several receivers that are over 6'2" and run down near 4.5 or so. Very talented team with a coaching staff that has shown the nack for finding a weakness on tape and exploiting it for about 20 points a game.

Our defense has always been geared to stop the run first, then the pass. Giddings will be a good challenge, but we'll be ready.

Looks like Giddings comes from a pretty strong 3a district. It sounds like they have the potential to give the Mustangs a few problems with that power running game. That's about the only way to move the ball against the Stangs, sweeps are useless. I think they'll have some success but in the end I expect the Mustangs to pull away in the second half

Ladarius White has verbally committed to U of H.

The Mustangs have faced the gammut of teams this year, from power running teams to high powered spread teams. The Buffaloes will no doubt present them with problems. Hopefully, we can play assignment football, gang tackle and limit missing tackles. I think that, if we can stop them on 50% of their drives, we'll be OK. We are going to have to keep them in 3rd and long situations to be successful.
