Did Lufkin win? And when did they get field turf at their stadium?

After seeing some of the upsets this year in 5A already makes you realize that anyone left could win it all.

Lufkin will be playing at SFA's Homer Bryce Stadium saturday at 2pm. They're playing South Garland (who beat longview in the 1st round 14-13)

Lufkin had turf put in during the summer before the season began, along with the jumbo screen on the scoreboard. They're also building an Indoor practice facility at the moment and should be ready pretty soon.

Thanks! (Lufkin resident for the first 18 years of my life...and still the love runs deep for my Panthers)

I was at home this summer at my Mom and Dad's when the turf and instant replay were being installed. Didn't know they had an indoor practice area being built too...wow!

It is just amazing to see the high school now and all of other new things. Wish they'd had all that when I was there but Junior High East used to sit where the Lufkin High sits now. I went to high school in the building that houses the Middle School now.

What I wouldn't give to be able to go to Nachogdoches to see Lufkin play but don't know if I'll be able to make the trip.

Man, how times have changed!

I'll either go see Newton play in lufkin or Lufkin play in SFA
