I can only imagine how loud Big Joe Lombardi got after Cove's TD. Man that guy gets more into a game than any play-by-play guy I've ever heard.

I grew up as a kid down the road from Cove in (note the sarcasm coming up) wonderful Lampasas...lol I had one encounter in my life with Joe Lombardi. I used to do play-by-play for Gatesville and one week they had a bye so the guy I worked with sent me to be the cameraman for Big Joe at a Cove-Kimball game at Sprague the week after Kimball's coach had passed away. All I can say is thank the Good Lord that I got to be in another booth opposite of Lombardi because he yells after every play that Cove gets positive yardage on. I found it kinda funny when you said someone keeps coughing into the mike. Honestly that's probably one of the other two guys in the booth just trying to get their voice heard because it's next to impossible to actually get to say anything during a Lombardi broadcast.

I'm a Cove grad - wife (who is at the Mavs/Pistons game right now) is too. The Cove program has really Cove a long way in the last 10 yrs. Thaks goodness coach Welch changed his mind on the Texas A&I job and stayed!
