True about the freshman playing .......I seriously dont think Cuero should have any problem's with Ingelside .Cuero by 21 at least.

Just curious....maybe someone from Cuero can give an opinion...

Is Cuero's team this year stronger than last year? I was at the Sinton/Cuero game last year and know first hand what kind of team Sinton had (Travis Franco:eek: )....this isn't one of those "riddle me this" things as IHS would say, just curious for an insiders perception.

would you or someone please take a picture of the Cuero side (fans in the stands) I'll take one of Ingleside's crowd.. I think it's neat to show both :)

Our preacher said he's be sitting on both sides.. he's from Ingleside originally :)

Cuero appears to be unstoppable.

gobbler grad
11-21-2005, 12:07 PM
maybe not stronger, but alot faster...
the running game is always there, but the passing is much better...Noack has his go-to receivers and they will burn you everytime...if your secondary is good, then you have a chance...

just my opinion...:D

You're right. Ingleside only has six seniors on the team. Keep that in mind when you're at the game. ;)

And go easy on us.

Probably from the HS website. They haven't updated rosters since last year... Michael Fenton and Randy Webb are still there.

Did Webb wind up going anywhere to play?

Ingleside will make this game very good and close in the first half, but Cuero will take it away in the 2nd though. Cuero has lots of speed and they have lots of depth, something that will catch up to the Mustangs as the game progresses. Good luck to both teams.

good luck to both teams, i'm sure Cuero players havent treated there past games as practice, it might have look like it from the stands, but i'm sure they know they have a very capable oppositon on Friday that can wreck the gobbler parade.

I guarantee Coach Reeve and his staff, along with the players are not taking the game lightly and are working on a new game plan this week, just like every week as I am sure the Mustangs are. I pray for an injury free week of practice and game and everyone has safe travels to and from. :) I am looking forward to the Meet and Greet too, not with just the Ingleside fans, but all other downlow fans as well :) :)

Can anyone tell me who Ingleside lost to this year. If my math is right, they are 7-4, so they ended the year at 5-4?

Cuero will take this one.
Survey says:
Cuero - 35
Ingleside - 6

Let's go Cuero!!

They have lost to:

Zapata 32-14
Orange Grove 27-13
Aransas Pass 29-27
Sinton 50-35

I have to say that I am a little surprised that so many have picked Ingleside to win. After watching the Gobblers last week, its almost impossible to think they won't win again. They could have put up 80 in the last game and I dont see the Offense as losing much momentum. And, the Defense is no easy task to go up against. This Gobbler team is just an all around force! No disrespect towards Ingleside, but I'll take Cuero by atleast 30!

We won't be able to go to the game on Friday :( because the little one is playing in the Thanksgiving soccer tournie in Corpus (I was really hoping for a game in Buc Stadium :hairpunk: ). Will be driving down to stay at the Rockport house. I know FM 104.7 doesn't pick up that far south. Is there an Ingleside broadcast I can tune into?

There's not a station out of Ingleside. I don't know if the old AM station in Sinton is still there, I think it was 1560, but they used to broadcast some of our games.

Cool, I'm gonna have to check that out. I love that station. Out in the middle of a field... it's hard not to notice when driving into town.

Good luck Cuero! I hope your team makes it to the state championship against Sweetwater. I would love to see these two teams go at it for State. Speed vs Speed

Goodness I miss KIKN(call letters for back in the day)! That was THE country radio station to listen to when I was young. Christian Spanish music is good but I have a language barrier myself.

Hey, maroogreen try 104.7 FM anyway. I've caught on the road, sometimes loud and clear, south of Beeville. I hope that helps.:) 104.7 does have a webcast if you're close to a computer, too.

Don't worry about these kids posting derrogatory comments on here SintonFan, I wish they could grow up if possible, but hey, we can't ask for too much on here now can we?

I think that Ingleside will be a much better challenge for Cuero than Llano was. I have heard that Llano was not a very good squad. Has Cuero been behind in any games this year? I wonder how they will react if Ingleside gets ahead? The way I see it is that the pressure is on Cuero. How well will they react if things do not go as easily as they think they will? Ingleside has a good well coached team, they have speed and playmakers, and if their QB can make good passes early, don’t be surprised if the Cuero side of the stadium gets very quiet.

Cuero was behind Sweeny 7-0 early in the game. They were also behind Wharton in their pre-district matchup. Ingleside may have some speed, but i guarantee Cuero has as much or if not more. I hope that wasn't a cocky thing to say, but that defense can fly. IMO the pressure won't be that big of an issue if they are down by a TD because I have witnessed them being down a few games and very cool and collectively they retaliated and scored.

OMG!!! I remember KIKN! I grew up listening to it because it was my parents' favorite station. Wow, that brings back memories. An interesting side note: I believe they sold the call letters to an out-of-state station in the early/mid 80s when they switched formats.

I'll be listening to 104.7 as long as I can pick it up on the road. Unfortunately, no Internet access at the place in Rockport. I'll listen on the radio as long as I can and then start manning the cell phone. DANG!! I wish I was going to the game. :(

BTW, I believe Cuero was also behind at the half against Sealy.

SEGUIN - Cuero extended its Thanksgiving feast a day at the expense of Ingleside.

The Gobblers gorged on Ingleside mistakes and enjoyed a 56-17 Class 3A, Division II regional playoff win Friday night at Matador Stadium.

For the second consecutive week, Cuero had the game in hand by halftime, while improving to 12-0 and advancing to the quarterfinals against the winner of today's Liberty Hill-Devine game.

The Mustangs (7-5) had six turnovers in the first half and the Gobblers turned five into scores, including a 96-yard interception return for a touchdown by Tre Gray.

Justin Wesley also had two interceptions and returned one for a touchdown, and Domingo Ruiz picked off another pass, as Cuero led 35-3 at the end of the second quarter.

"That's the first time in a long time that we've seen a spread team that's actually run the spread against us," Cuero coach Mark Reeve said. "It was fun to go against that type of offense and actually do some things we worked on in practice."

Wesley started the defensive landslide two plays after Ingleside's Harold Foster intercepted a Kyle Noack pass at the 2-yard line. It was Noack's first interception in the postseason.

But Wesley made it academic by intercepting a Travis Chrisman pass in the middle of the field and returning it 10 yards for a touchdown with 4:43 left in the first quarter.

"Our offense started out a little slow," Wesley said. "Our defense had to step up, score big and get the job done."

Cuero's Dason Jackson recovered a Chrisman fumble at the Ingleside 24 on the Mustangs' next possession and Latrael Cooper scored on a 9-yard run.

The Gobblers took a 21-0 lead on a 10-yard run by Fabian Olguin that came the play after Corey Scott recovered a muffed punt.

Gray scored the Gobblers' fourth touchdown when he made a leaping interception of a Chrisman pass at the Cuero 4 and was spun around and retreated into the end zone. But Gray eluded a tackler, cut back to the sideline, and out-ran his pursuers for the Gobblers' second defensive touchdown.

"We played well on defense," Reeve said. "We got some turnovers in the secondary and some fumbles early. We were able to come out of the chute early like we have been the last few games and we got a lot of people involved."

After Zack Adams ran 27 yards on a reverse and a Cuero pass interference penalty set up a 25-yard field goal by Ingleside's Matthew Rodriguez, Cuero needed only 32 seconds to drive 67 yards for its fifth touchdown.

The Gobblers scored on a 34-yard pass from Noack to tight end J.T. Rudd with 5 seconds left in the second quarter.

Cuero had just 151 yards of offense at halftime, but it hardly mattered thanks to the defense, which also sacked Chrisman five times.

"We got a real good push from our front four and our linebackers," Reeve said. "I thought we did a good job of mixing it up between pressure and coverage."

Ingleside recovered an onsides kick to open the third quarter and scored on a 55-yard pass from Chrisman to Foster.

But the Gobblers put the game away on a 27-yard pass from Noack to Gray and touchdown runs of 5 and 4 yards by Olguin, before putting its reserves in the game to start the fourth quarter.

"We knew what was coming," Wesley said. "We just read the quarterback and sat on his throws."
