I looked over the teams making the final 16 in each class in the playoffs (regionals) in HS volleyball for 2003. Only 4 of those teams will advance to state in Austin. It is noted that only district winners and runner ups made it to the final 16 in each class - there were no third place teams making it. I will give the number of runner ups in each class making it and the rest are all district winners. In Class A there are no runner ups, In Class 2A 3 runner ups are in, in Class 3A 4 runner ups are in, in class 4A 2 runner ups are in, and in Class 5A 6 runner ups are in. It will be interested to see how many of the runner ups make the final four and go to state.
