Well although I thought it was a bit questionable I did find it funny...the sign I saw at the WO-S/Huffman game was a good one.

It said:

"Steal George Foreman's Grill" (something really close to that)

(For those who don't know George Foreman IV was the running back for Huffman.)

You should have seen Papa George at the Huffman/Barbers Hill game which was Huffman's Parents Night. He was looking might sharp in his suit.

My favorite was when Hamshire-Fannett put up signs and went on a Beaumont station claiming they would "Drill the Hill"
Afterwords some BH students started to chant "Drilled by the Hill".

Another is a saying put on a chainlink fence with cups before a Sweetwater v. Snyder game in Sweetwater.
"For the Kitties, a bowl of milk is real sweet,
but a Bowl full of Mustangs is no treat."

The Gobbler football team was told last week that Sweeny had a sign up at their high school that said (mas o menos) "Cuero is overrated, overranked, and about to be spanked."

Also, I've seen lots of clever one over the years during playoff time, mostly at our expense. Especially Thanksgiving weekend, when opponents seem to go crazy with the turkey jokes.

then one of the cheerleaders had on a poster board at the Sweetwater vs. Merkel game "What did the mustang say to the badger?"

"Too badger gonna lose" i thought it was pretty corny

The Monahans fans would yell "Big Red is Dead!" at the same time during and before the game, and both crowds would try to drown each other out. It would get so loud from both sides that we couldn't hear the coach during pregame.

I coached at Calhoun (Fighting Sandcrabs) one year, and when we went to Brazosport, they had a sign that said....

About five years ago at a Grapevine/Colleyville Heritage game CH had a sign in the stands that said "I used to live in Grapevine but then my dad found a job!" Grapevine made one up at halftime that said "I used to live in Colleyville but then my dad went to rehab!". Thankfully the PA announcer said the second half will not start until the signs were removed and they were.

One of our bitter rivals before they moved up in classification were the Los Fresnos Falcons and I remember a poster by the cheerleaders that read "Falcons taste just like chicken".

About 12 years ago when Wylie played in Graham, there was a sign that said "White-out Wylie". It has not been seen since.

The one I remember the most was against Raymondville in the '98 playoffs...

"What in the heck is a Gobbler??" (what in the 'hell' was written on some of their cars)...

It was funny because they were the Bearkats...

Way back when I was in H.S. Every year, the Sweetwater cheerleaders would make a sign for the Snyder game that read "Here kitty kitty, here kitty kitty, here kitty kitty, WHOP! and they always did a chant to go along with it. In fact the whole crowd would get into it. The sign would always have a huge hand coming down and squashing the cat flat.
It was funny back then, but you probably couldnt get away with it now. Too politically incorrect now. That always seems to take the fun out of everything.

"Calhoun's got Crabs" [/B]

it would have been even funnier if they put boxes of Rid on the signs.
