Llano runs the wing-t, first year in the offense with their new coach. Shane Pope is the main "go-to" guy, but there are 3 other backs who get some carries and grind out a few yards.

Sorry, but I don't know what defensive they run. Maybe hornfan can help. I do remember that their defensive line has some big kids.

Llano is a rushing team implementing the wing/slotT miss direction type offense this season trying to copy thier district competition at Liberty Hill. They don't have it perfected like LH but with every game they get bet better.

According to the Austin paper their stats read:
Total offense to date - 3203 yards, 2875 on the ground.
Carrying the mail is Shane Pope with 1394 yds on 254 carries (that is over 23 carries per game if these stats include the playoff last week)
Close to a 1000 yards have been split between two other backs, Young & Dickey on about 100 carries between them.
Not much passing as you can see.

Hope that gives you some insight of what to expect from Llano.

As an LH fan I hope Llano wins but realize this is a tough match for them. Good Luck Jackets, hope to match up again with you near the region final and see how much better you got running the wingT. I love that offense, it is much fun to watch.

Thank you Hillman that was what I wanted to know .This game should be a good one Cuero's D has done nicely against the run but I dont believe they have seen the wing-T this season .

Cuero's O is pretty much a wash between passing and throwing ------4017 total yards avg. 401 a game 2054 on the ground 205 avg. and passing were at 1961 for a 196 avg.

Take it to em Gobblers !

I think our defense will step up to the challege and handle anything they run at us...

the wing T is a lot of miss direction. Keep your eyes peeled. I find myself watching what looks like a wide run only to find the quick hitter through the middle is already 20 yds down field.

They run the slot T, a little different than the wing t, but a lot of misdirection. Lull you to sleep with the run and then hit you with play action pass. Cuero by a bunch regardless!!!!

run a base 4-3 pretty big dline and oline probably averaging around 260-270 across both probably a little less on the dline; been able to put more passes in the past few games because one of our top recievers is back from knee surgery from the spring, two TD's in the Poteet game were passing ones so not as run heavy as we were during district.

Our D played against a misdirection style offense last year against Luling, do not believe they ran it this year...

Last year our D held 'em to 9 points, shoulda been 3 but a bad call...

Our defense is quick, hope it doesn't hurt in overpursuing the would-be runners...

you overpursue a runner the next thing you know the person you were pursuing wont even have the ball

You try to play our run the next thing you know is your looking at the back of our recievers running the ball in for a td .:D

for the one that said we are copying LH that is not the truth that is the offense our new head coach runs and what he ran at his last school.

Nothing against Llano, but Cuero in a run a way!!! Yes, Llano has some size, but the speed of Cuero's offense and defense will be the MAJOR difference. I am sure it will be a good game. Good luck to both teams.

One serious Question not being a hater but when was the last time a State Championship was won by a team running the Slot-T or a version there of .I know Callalen ran a version of the wing-T but always met up with a bigger faster opponent that could stop that offense .

Doesn't one of the Midland schools run a Wing-T?
