I saw the WC/Gonzalez game and the WC defense looks tough. That being said, I know Wimberly is gonna bring an explosive offense (with HUGE receivers) and a swarming defense. Should be a great game!
BTW- when/where is this game?

i saw the wc/gonzales game and i didnt think wc looked anything special...i dont think they are even close to being as good as they were last year...but thats just my opinion....and i think wimberley wins this one by alot and shuts down the wc offense...

Although the Roughnecks are considered by some the under dogs I'm not quit convinced with this Wimberley team. Should be a good game no blow out here. I like the Roughnecks in this one!!

West Columbia is clearly the underdog in this one. Wimberly is 11-0 and state ranked by the AP. The Roughnecks are not..Heck, we dont even have a name for our defense....lol
If #22 is healthy and the Roughneck offense is clicking....there WILL be an upset on friday night in victoria.

if wimberly beats us I will be upset....
i agree that this will be a good game! i understand that wc has alot of speed. this is probably the best team wimberley has played to this point with respect to liberty hill. rankings mean nothing at this point of the season. this is not the bcs, thank god. i do think both teams match up well.

wimberly and WC are both good ball clubs.

i have proof to back up what i say when i say wc is nothing special....i watched them play a below average gonzales team and wc looked nothing special....im not saying wimberley by 50 but they should win by 20-30 points......

Wimberleys defense will shut down WC and it seems the coaches have finally figured out to give the ball to #32 and let him run, if they continue doing this than its all over.

Columbia's offense isn't one to just shut down. They averaged over 400 yards a game. Even in the Gonzales game, when they couldn't find their butt with both hands on offense, they piled up more than 300. Shuting down Columbia ain't gonna happen.

Liberty Hills offense was avg like 500yds and 50pts a game and Wimberley held them to 280yds and 9pts so I do think its possible that WC will get shut down.

rotex is exactly right. Wimberly is a very good team and WC is a average team. Im not saying that WC cannot win this game but WImberly is def the better team. Lay off rotex, he knows more than yall think.

If Columbia's defense plays as well as they did last Thursday and the offense plays like they should, the dub should win the game. If they put up the kind of "O" they did against Gonzales it might be a different story. I seriously doubt that Wimberly is as fast on either side of the ball as Columbia is. They might have the size advantage, but the say the bigger they are the harder they fall. I say Columbia 27 Wimberly 21.

Okay, so I hear the Wimberly supporters jock riding the Texans defense. But whats up with there offense? Do they have any playmakers or do they just run the ball right at you? Any good recievers or do ya'll just throw it up and hope someone catches it. Another reason I think the roughnecks will win is because they are not the Browns, that seems to be the only team the Texans can beat. Columbia played horribly on offense last Thursday and beat a 7-3 playoff team 21-0. Wimberly put 42 on a 4-6 team. I doubt that Columbia is intimidated.The best team I believe we have played is 11-0 Lamar Consolidated. I doubt that Wimberly matches up as well as they do, size wise or athletically. Granted, that is our only loss, 35-28, but we were winning late in the game and should have won. It is those predistrict games, win or lose, that prepare us for the playoff game against the Texans.

Wimberley has plenty of playmakers on offense. Buse at running back is very fast and can break one at anytime but he only gets the ball about 10 times a game and avgs. 10.6yds a carry, then we have two 6'4 receivers in Marburger and Thompson that will catch anything you throw at them, plus we have a line that is led by UT commit Burnette. The offense is strong but most games the starters are out by the 3rd so they dont get the stats as most other teams.

Dang, and I read somewhere that cuero only gives up 182 yrds a game on Defense....thought the Wimberly D was supposed to be one of the best! And cuero's O is a little over 400, just like columbia and wimberly, good luck to both teams, but I want the Texans to take it home, and that's only because someone from columbia hasn't taken the cuero waterboy position since last season!:D

with that being said gobblerfan02 they probably have a little tougher district than cuero and when it mattered they completely shut down a liberty hill team that averages putting up 53 points a game...but thats cool they are in different divisions so they can both take home the titles...:D

I've seen both teams in play this year.
Wimberley has an advantage at offense no doubt. They can run and pass equally proficient. The have a decent size advantage too. That being said WC is not out of this game at all.
WC has a better ball control offense that if it works like it should can control the clock and allow their very athletic, speedy defense to do what it does best. Make quick plays to slow down the offense and produce turnovers. This was evident against Gonzales and should still apply to this weeks game.
If I give the Texans the O advantage...
I'll then have give the Roughnecks the D advantage...
Sorry but it looks like a good game to me.:)

i think it's great wc is relying on luck to pull off an upset! this last tuesday i was also relying on luck to win the mega millions lotto, although i thought i was lucky my chances were 1/ 80000000! how did i not pull this off i mean i had a chance, hell i bought $20 worth increasing my odds to 1/4000000! wow those look like good odds! bottum line this code red defense is good, very good! i see wimberley's d getting very physical on your rb's! watch out for #52! this kid wrecks shop!!
