How did your alma mater do this past week/this past season? Not your current favorite team, but your alma mater. For you young ones that means the high school you graduated from. Even if its out of state, hopefully you still follow them and can relay how they did this season, or how they are doing if they are still playing. Why? Well, why not ....

------------------------------------

my alma mater -
Copperas Cove Bulldawgs (11-0) ::: beat Klein Forest 62-12 in 5A Division II game in San Marcos .... next, vs. Leander Lions (10-1) at Round Rock ISD at 7:30 Saturday

lets see ... my "local" team, the Potomac Falls Panthers, beat Sterling Dominion 35-0 and end up their season at 4-6, inc. 2 district OT losses.

the VA playoffs are different.... Potomac Falls is in AA Dulles District, that district winner did not make the playoffs ... they have a computer system that ranks the teams in a pratucular class/division/region and the top 4 in each make it, 1 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3. I have yet to find a complete bracket online ....

actually I was wrong

our local district winner, Sterling Park View (5-5) is the #4 seed in AA, Division 4, Region 2 and their first game is @ Harrisonburg (home of the defending NCAA I-AA champs James Madison U.). there are 4 regions in AA Division 4, 4 teams each for a total of 16 teams. and I believe all brackets in the state of VA are broken up that way and there are about a dozen brackets.

My alma mater, Crosbyton (1a), ended 5-5, 4-2 in district and did not make the playoffs. :(

Hubby's, Shallowater (2a), ended 3-7, 2-5 in district. At least they scheduled 3a teams for non-district games....although they lost 2 of them.

My alma mater, the Lufkin Panthers (5a) beat Harker Heights, never have heard of them before, this past Saturday in Waco in OT. Lufkin remains undefeated for this season with a record now of 60-7 since 2001, I believe, and a playoff record of 14-3 since 2001.

Lufkin will play Hays Consolidated in Waco again this coming Saturday.

The Pack Attack is alive and well! Go Pack!!!!!

My alma mater, the Center Point Pirates (1A) did not make the playoffs. They struggled in their pre district schedule and lost to Medina, Harper, and Rocksprings in district to miss the playoffs. They had to pull an upset against either Harper or Rocksprings and still win the rest of their games (Medina, Nueces Canyon, Leakey) in order to clinch a spot. Oh, well....

I was on the field for the first two of the six. My high school alma mater, Sweetwater obviously won. Now my college which I'll graduate from in May, well they lost in the first round of the D-II playoffs 45-14. They went 9-3 on the year a dramatic improvement from the dismal 2-9 of just a year ago, amazing what coaching can do.

Platte Valley High in Kersey, CO missed 3A playoffs by one game...this has been one of their best seasons ever!! The football team always sucks...but this year they only had (3) defeats out of I think (11) games. I'm proud...

My other alma mater (from k-8th grade) played in the semi's this last weekend, but I'm not sure how they ended up...(Roosevelt High, Johnstown, CO)

yes, the junior high's mascot is the roustabout.

just a little lesson.

a ROUGHNECK is a member of the crew of an oil rig other than the driller.

a ROUSTABOUT is a laborer employed for temporary or unskilled jobs in an oil field.

My Alma Mater, Columbia High beat Gonzales 21-0 on Thursday. I drove 2 hours to watch them play there worst game of the year. A fellow graduate of mine is getting married this Saturday and yes, his rehearsal dinner is on Friday at 7:00 p. m. I told him to back out for me so I could watch the Columbia vs. Wimberly game. I told him there would be more women to chose from there. The chicken shi* said no!
