The Ozark Tigers ran out of time in their bid to upset the Webb City Cardinals and fell to the visitors 35-28 Wednesday night.

Webb City got on the board first on an 8-yard run to go up 7-0 early in the game. But on the following kickoff Seth Mason put the Tigers in great field position with a 71-yard kickoff return that resulted in a 19-yard Morris Berger to Tyler Oakley TD pass to tie the game.

The Cardinals came right back and scored on a 41-yard run to take a 14-7 halftime lead.

In the second half Webb City scored on a 21-yard run and a 66-yard run for touchdowns to put the visitors up 28-7. But on the ensuing kickoff Seth Mason again rallied the Tigers with a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to make it a 28-14 game.

Webb City widened their lead with a 38-yard TD run and a 35-14 margin. Ozark responded with a Berger 12-yard scoring pass to Aaron Marciniak to pull within 35-21. Ozark then intercepted a Webb City pass to set up a 6-yard touchdown pass from Berger to Jordan Jackson. But time ran out on the 10-1 Tigers with final score 35-28 Webb City.

Webb City holds off Ozark in classic Class 4 battle.

Have you ever seen a heavyweight title fight on a roller coaster?
Webb City and Ozark both zigged and zagged in a game where the people outnumbered the seats at Ozark.

It wasn't until the Tigers' onside kick was unsuccessful and Webb City quarterback Collin Howard knelt to run out the clock that anyone could exhale.

Finals score Wednesday: Webb City 35, Ozark 28.

"There were a lot of big plays in a big game. We just had to jump back on that roller coaster," Webb City coach John Roderique said. "We were lucky to escape with a win."

Hey Rhino... did y'all go 10-1?
Was that the first playoff game?
I was just wondering when I saw the records that both teams were undefeated.

It sucks that your last game is loss. But look at it this way, there's only a handful of teams whose last game is not a loss, so you're in the majority. Congrats on the season and get ready for next year because it starts on Monday.
