I will claim a hutto victory right now. If we lose ill be on here saturday night after the game to get chewed out by the marlin people. But, Marlin just talks too much to have not done anything really. They seem like a fine football team, but nothing about them makes me go awww. Then again, Marlin can prove me wrong Saturday, but i doubt it. Wish Marlin fans safe travels, and the players injury free

Why would anyone from Marlin "chew you out" after Hutto loses to Marlin. I do not think any Marlin players are on this board just fans. As for Marlin impressing you, I would defintely like to hear your comments on the game after Saturday. Marlin knows what they have to do next Saturday, if they want to continue playing football and will bring their "A" game for Hutto. Good luck to the Hippos and travel safe.

I think EVERYONE will be home to eat Thanksgiving dinner because it's on Thursday and it's a holiday. Don't think the UIL will allow any HS to play on Thanksgiving!! No football is played on Thanksgiving execept for the pros!!! There might even be a college game as well!!!

In 2001 Hutto was 2A and made the playoffs. In 2002 they moved up to 3A and impressed. In 2003 and 2004 they just got stronger. Now they are a legitimate contender for the DII 3a division title. If Marlin thinks they are going to blow this team out they are in for a big surprise. This team is big and physical with several excellent athletes and an outstanding coaching staff. Marlin is going in a little thin on talent from years past and I predict Hippos by at least 2 TDs.

Maybe the term "blow out" is too severe. I do stand by my prediction and feel Hutto is underated by many. When a team moves up fast like Hutto they often get overlooked. This is a good football team and they can put up the points so Marlin will need to bring a stout defense. Good luck to both teams for an injury free contest.

Marlin thin on talent? What planet have you been on, because it cannot be the planet earth. Marlin may not have the big physical backs that they have had in the past, but few teams do. You work with what you have got and Marlin has what they need to get the job done. Yeah Hutto made the playoffs in 2001 and lost in the first round. In 2002 Hutto was 1-9, I am sure that made a huge impression on the 3A teams they played. In 2003 they played 3 2A schools and were 6-4 on the year. In have to admit they did move up talentwise? in 2004, but still could not make the playoffs. And you have the nerve to talk about Marlin being thin on talent. Better ask somebody who has been around the block a few times, before you make statements that you cannot back up.

Pudlugger is still a little upset MB beat Lagrange a couple years ago. MB has been making deep runs in the play-offs for years now and the only thing that will keep them out of the AAA play-offs next year will be a move to AA!

Pud has always had a woody for the dawgs.
any high school football fan knows that any team that is in the 2nd round deserves to be there and got there by beating other good teams. at this point it boils down to who wants it the most....sometimes it is not the "so called" better team that wins.
I can bet the Dawgs are expecting a well prepared, hard fighting hippo team. to think otherwise would be out of Dawg charater and foolish as well.

im not worried about the hutto defense. They have been great this year, especialy the last 3 games. I'm more worried about the hutto offense, since kerley has been playing hurt all year

Injuries are a part of the game, sometimes the team that goes the farthest, is the one that can last through the injuries that are bound to happen.

what about the post when marlin was on top. marlin has been on top for yrs,and still is.theres not many programs in the state thats expected to go to state each yr.we lost boo hoo ,but will be back next yr( but some teams want) tradition!

Ya know Marlin has pretty much whomped the snot out of Cameron their last two meetings (when they were in same district) and I don't aim this at all Marlin fans but there were a few at the Cameron/Hempstead game sitting on the Cameron side talking plenty of smack about Cameron in earshot of a lot of Cameron fans...just want you to know class speaks for itself and nothing will turn someone against you faster than mouthy fans sitting on the wrong side of the stadium (unless they're just trying to start trouble). Marlin has had plenty of talent thru the years just no one to really focus that talent now they have a coach who can and does - don't spoil that image by being one of those "fans" or letting them do that mess. We don't expect anybody to be Cameron fans but don't sit on Cameron's side & run the Yoemen down when at any time YOUR team could get kicked out of the playoffs by another team from the same district.
No disrespect intended except to those most deserving...By all means root for your team and if you must root against ours - please, sit on the other side.
