I will go for jasper. They just seem like a new team now as compared to the reg season.

Jasper has a lot of weapons. Speed to spare. Must avoid silly mistakes and silly play-calling. Good game on tap. Toss up.

Should be an interesting game. I see Jasper having a stronger team, overall, with a decided speed advantage; however, Jasper's Achilles heal has been penalties and turnovers, which can definitely sway the advantage to BC's side.

why is it necessary to add "high enrollment" to the mix? that matters NIL at this point of the season ... IMO

This one is just too close to call, however I will have to give the edge to Jasper.

Jasper started out slow, but they played decent teams in that slow start, had hurricane issues, QB issues, and much more. I think Jasper has a slight avantage here due to athletisism of their players and team speed.

I will give it to Jasper by 3 because they can make big plays look easy.

Should be a good game.

I might have to ride with RBarker to that one or at least meet up with him, ETBU and the others.

I think the final is

Jasper 26
Bridge City 35

Since the Bridge City offense has not been held under 4 touchdowns all year I think BC goes slightly over the 4 touchdown threshold against Jasper. Bridge City's pass defense is the only thing where I think we are suspect against Jasper. Jasper has come with a passing attack, which is not normally associated with a Jasper team. However, they could wreak havoc on Bridge City through the air if we're not playing good pass defense. I really don't factor in the Jasper losses earlier in the season, just due to they were really playing some quality opponents. This should be a very hard fought ballgame coming down to the wire at the end.

just remember that Rusk's Mr Sturns (#1 rusher in the state) had not rushed for less than 200 yrds in any of their games and Jasper held him to 73 yrds and the enitire team to 118 yrds. You hear lately more about his offensive play but #5 Sean Weatherspoon is always ready and willing to pop someone coming up the middle or comeing across the field:D :D

I think Rusk must have been somewhat one dimensional as if they had been running big time on teams all year, when that run started to fail them against Jasper, they should have been going to the air. I don't think for a minute that if BC only had a running game that Jasper couldn't shut it down. I think if the run starts to fail BC, then they easily can also go to the air and be just as successful. They will be hard to defense. Jasper I know will be ready for this game and I do think this will be an extremely hard fought ball game. I just think BC has too many weapons........but hey it's highschool football in the playoffs, so I understand anything can happen here.
I really do think it will come down to if Bridge City's defense can slow the Bulldogs up enough that we just outscore them.

To all my jasper friends, dont take this personal. I say BC over Jasper by 3.

Thier kicker is really Gooood!

Trust me, I know a thing or two about kicking;)

Yep, I said it! This is the part of the season when special teams makes a huge difference!

That's going to be a very tough task. Jasper's offense is very strong, and BC will have their hands full containing them.

Seems I do remember two passes they made in the 2nd half..both were intercepted, but at least they tried.

we are hurt, slow, easy schedual, and a high enrollment school with little depth:confused:

Jasper certainly hasn't had an easy schedule, so I don't really know what your talking about here.

It does make me curious as to what injuries does Jasper have?

Yes, you guys do have a large enrollment, but so does BC, so I don't really know how that factors in also.

Not sure about Jasper depth.......have they had a problem with this?

Hupernikomen

Just trying to yank OC chain about us having depth is all bark is doing.

Jasper plays more people both ways than BC. We do have some depth if you count all the freshmen and sophomores we brought up after the Silsbee game.

I hope you are right. I noticed Adams didn't play against Rusk much on defense but did return kicks..I thought that was curious. He did have a very nice interception in one of the few plays I saw him play on defense.

Bridge City this year actually has some misleading stats as to the strength of this team. If you look at who they have played with their full compliment of starters in you will see that with their starters in they really are quite explosive. Teams score on them, but mainly it is in the second half with their subs in. I will take the first half scores of these games and show you the halftime score. Their has only been two games this entire year where the game wasn't getting out of control and they had to leave their starters in for the entire game.

Halftime scores

BC 21 (28)
Liberty 00 (00)

BC 17 (40)
KV 06 (12)

BC 21 (31)
LCM 00 (14)

BC 21 (28)
OF 00 (00)

BC 38 (55)
HJ 13 (20)

BC 31 (38)
HF 00 (00)

BC 28 (42)
Cleveland 00 (20)
(playoffs)

Games in which their starters remained on the field

BC 14 (28)
anahuac 10 (10)

BC 10 (34)
WOS 27 (41)
