BC dominated then pulled the starting offense hoping to go in injury free against Jaspers' depth next week.
The assorted subs got to play a whole lot of playoff football tonight. I think that was a smart move to keep the Starters out and be ready to face a very tough Jasper team next week. It could have been 55-0 tonight had they kept the offense starters in the ballgame. But of course you could of had a star hurt while running up the score.

I think Bridge City made a good move putting in their subs. It's always a class act to do so and it helps your team. This was the last team they will be soundly picked over another team. The rest of region 3 is a complete dogfight to get out of. The ones left in region 3 can beat you on any given night. There really isn't a weak one left in the bunch. It should be real interesting from here on out.

I remember a great team at Stark High(Orange); they had a great QB named Foster and the Coach would run the score up as high as possible in the playoffs. They had a great backup QB Steve Kourby that never got to play. Well on up the bracket play David Foster got his collarbone broke in the fourth quarter of a runaway win by the Tigers. Steve Kourby had to go in--cold turkey-- the next game and Pharr San Juan-Alamo scraped out a win over a team that could have won state had Kourby had a chance to play a little football through the course of the season.
Playoff strategy is a whole lot different if you want to survive the rigors of the bracket climb. Kids having to play hurt--subs stepping in to take up the slack: that is why the high enrollments with depth in each division have a definate advantage in the climb mode.

Old Card, I hope you are not talking about Jasper when you say "high enrollment school with depth". We do not have any depth. We have everybody playing both ways. We lost most of our speed with the 3 starters who did not return after Hurricane Rita. Lost in the big publicity about Gilbert Moye, was the fact that Taylor Hart was probably about the fastest player on the team and he was also a quarterback who very well may have taken Moye's place had he stayed on the team. I have a lot of praise for Jasper's current QB. He has done a great job to have stepped in so late in the season. It will be a good game and maybe this will be the year that BC beats the Jasper Bulldogs. Does anyone know if that has ever happened? In modern times?

David Foster was an All American. He also seemed to like baseball better than football.

See old card, you arn't the only one with memory!

I hope Bridge City wins Div II State almost as much as I hope West Orange-Stark wins Div I State.

OC, here again you need to get your facts straight. It was not Stark High, it was Orange High. It was not a runaway against Bay City when Foster got hurt. It was the 3rd Quarter when he got hurt and the Tigers were up either 12-0 or 19-0, anyway they won 19-0, hardly a runaway. Distorting the facts again, OC?

Foster was working at the local Dupont as of a few years ago.

There is a website that does refer to the Orange High as the Lutcher Stark High School from 1943 to 1977. Called it Orange High from 1916 to 1942.

I will stand corrected on this one, I called Cleveland winnning this game in and upset. But it is a good warm up game for the real playoffs for BC. Congrats to Cleveland for making the playoffs and turning their program around.

All I'll say about this post is that. Had a WO-S fan posted about a game we were involved in we'd be tarred (is that a word?), feathered, torched, a$$ kicked, crucified or told, "this is why people have a problem with WO-S", over it.

The overall record between Bridge City and Jasper is Jasper leads the series at 12-17-1. Your question about when was the last time BC beat them in modern times. Well, they really haven't played each other consistently since the 60's, 70's and 80's so I am wondering which decade your considering modern times? Seems BC dominated in the 60's, they traded even shots in the 70's and Jasper dominated in the 80's.
However, if your counting modern times in the 90's and 00's, they have only played 4 games and Jasper took those 4. Pretty much they have traded shots back at each other through their history.
The largest blowout for Jasper was a 43-0 win in 1983 and the largest blowout for Bridge City was 42-0 in 1966. Anyways I will lay out the history for you and the scores.
