I was listening to the BC game until it started to get out of hand, so I haven't been able to keep up with the Jasper game much. It sounds like Jasper has had a bunch of pre-snap penalties, though.

Hey GS 17 keep the updates coming with Jasper if you got em. This is quite a game. Do you know any of the specifics of what is going on over there?

Jasper 220 yards offense in the first half and is apparently playing good defense, but hasn't been able to punch the ball in -- the announcers just keep saying Jasper has had a bunch of "silly" penalties. I'm going to be in and out, but I'll keep it updated as best I can.

Gotta hand it to Rusk... they're making us turn over the ball which hasn't happened with any regularity since Rita. :eek:

I'm interested to see how many yards in penalties Jasper has... They've shot themselves in the foot throughout the game with penalties and turnovers. Definitely a sloppy effort by the Dogs, but hats off to Rusk -- they made it interesting for a while.

About 2:10 left in the game.

I hope that site still stands! Debating whether or not to buy a ticket or ask permission with the band director to ride with the band and get into the game for free but still play along. It would be perfect for other reasons too! ;)

Jasper came out throwing and threw the whole night..never seen anything like that from a Jasper team. Scored twice in two possessions and then commenced to fumbling away the next two possessions. Rusk was certainly well coached to strip the football. Rusk was able to move the ball after the second fumble in for a touchdown. Really the only time in the game they put together any kind of offense. Jasper played better offensively in the second half. The fumble on the 1 yard line hurt. We threw an interception for a touchdown as well. All in all the offense moved the ball really well, but Rusk made some big plays on defense and we had so many penalties I couldn't count them all.

Defensively the Dogs were outstanding. Don't know how many total yards Rusk had, but I bet it was way below their season average. Their quaterback is very good. I understand he was averaging over 200 yards per game on the ground. The receivers couldn't catch cold..yikes! Good game to the Eagles and good luck next year..should be very good with all the players you are bringing back.

Well the fumble stats are wrong. We had at least 4 fumbles and lost 3. Four turnovers Jasper had in this game kept the game close. I said Rusk had under 150 yards offense and they did at 144. Very good effort for the dogs defense against a potent running attack. I noticed Jasper played 2 new defensive backs for the majority of this game. And they both did very well.

This was one of the best catches I've ever seen. Especially since the defender was tackling him before the ball got there. Of course there was no call for pass interference, so Sean just had to make a 1 handed grab.:)

Another thing - You've got to wonder about that play calling by Rusk late in the game.

1. They were using most of the play clock late in the 4th quarter. They didn't look like they were in a hurry at all. At least have two plays ready to run when you come out of a time-out.

2. Why spike the ball with 2 seconds to go and down by 14? That was just stupid IMO. The coaches deserved that last int returned for a TD.

Again this is just my opinion...but it's the right one.:p :p
