It will do Sweetwater some good to have their 2nd team playing in the 2nd half. It keeps the injuries down off their starters and lets the 2nd team get some good playing time in a playoff game. Sweetwater definently put the hammer down tonight though.

First i want to say.. Go mustangs... Im just getting in.. from the game and wanted to give some opinions while they're still fresh...

Congratulations to the Mustangs players coaches and fans .. Lets keep it going...

To Greenwood.. Best of luck to you the players and fans... But not the coaches...

There's something that just boiles my blood when you're watching a game and you cant help but Want to go across the field and strangle the other coach and take his clip board away...

I understand you have to have a gameplan going in... Mustangs first team Defense had the run Stopped for the 1st half.. and there was no way getting around them.. What does Greenwood do coming out in the 2nd half... They run the ball and it works.. 2 huge plays puts them in for the score.. Next possession... the run the clock as if they're the ones ahead... Run run Run...

they just would not leave they're game plan of run run run.. and it bit em'... Yes we picked the ball off in the 1st half... The QB had his eyes burned into the guy he was throwing it too..

It just gets me to think that Rangers could possibly have made this a game but the coach wouldnt stray from the game plan eating up precious time on the clock... IT almost looked as if he was rolling over for us in the 2nd half.. NOT THE PLAYERS, the coach..or who ever was playcalling... the players were still trying..

And then with 2mins left.. he runs 3 times calls timeouts at after each play.. and finally goes to the air... on a beautiful fade pass to the wideout... WHy wasnt this started in the 3rd qtr... there's absolutely no way you can make up 41 pts on the ground...

OKAY IVE SAID MY PEACE... i feel for greenwood on this one... Mustangs came to play 1st half and in the 2nd half when the 2nd D was out.. Rangers definitely could have brought the 1st string back on to the field... But man..

sWaterislife

that's one thing i kinda miffed about ... Beginning of the year it was 15, 5, 10 in that order at QB... 15 gets hurt ... then it was 5, 10.... 10 gets hurt.. so #12 becomes the emergency QB.. who saw time at QB i think against Pecos or Lleveland (dont think Lleveland)... Why then is he the #3 QB... #10 If you remember was rolling almost as good as #5... Lol.. I hate just using numbers...

To all the Seniors, life is just beginning out in the real world, but you will always cherish the memories that YOU made on Friday Nites, on a TEXAS football field. So keep em close.... For the rest of you guys - You will continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years...

I disagree.....I understand your frustration for the Rangers but I think that the coach did what he thought was best for some good reasons. First, Greenwood has been a running team all year. You can't just all of the sudden "decide" to be a pass happy team (the timing and skills needed to have a precision passing game take too long to devlop). Second, if you saw what was happening when Greenwood did try to pass...the reciever would be open briefly, but the quarterback is just not developed enough in his passing game to deliver the ball accurately and in a timely fashion (This is not a slam on the Wilbur kid...he is good and is a nifty runner, but he is also young and has not developed as a passer just yet) in addition he was under pressure alot of the time. When he did try....he was often either intercepted or almost intercepted. If Sweetwater had a slow secondary, then maybe he could have gotten away with it....but Sweetwater is too fast in the secondary. In this game, Greenwood was totally outmatched. It did not help that they were missing a very speedy running back (#15). They have a young team with some very good talent returning (and moving up next year). Their future is bright. They will continue to be very good for the forseeable future, but Sweetwater had way too much speed for the Greenwood team that took the field last night.

Will do. I had read that the Ballinger girls were state ranked, is that true or not.

Texas Hoops has Ballinger rated 19th and TABC has them ranked 12th. They lost a point guard who went DI last year along with two other 3 year contributors. Coach Dantley does a good job of reloading though....What about the Snyder girls?

Pretty much returning most of the girls, getting one back from ACL tear that will help. Lost a starter to a torn ACL against Littlefield Tuesday night they will hurt.
