In 2005 these kids playing football were not even born yet. Well let's turn back the clock to 1985 Class 3A State Playoffs where there was only one Divison. Alot has changed since then the music, movies, I was a Freshmen at Sinton High, Reagan was in office but one thing that hasn't changed is some of these teams were in Class 3A and advanced to the playoffs, like today. The Sinton Pirates were only in their second year in Class 3A after dropping from Class 4A. And has been in in 3A since then. Here are the teams who made the playoffs in '85. In the Bi-District round

Perryton beat Tulia (now 2A) 34-7
Iowa Park tied Graham 34-34 (IP advances)
Vernon beat Breckenridge 19-0
Kaufman beat Bonham 14-0
Daingerfield beat Hughes Springs (now 2A) 42-13
Gladewater beat Van 34-19
Marlin beat Hillsboro 33-6
Wylie (now 4A) beat Wills Point 17-13
Pittsburg beats Hooks (now 2A) 24-18
Gilmer beats Mineola 42-6
Waco Connally beats Alvarado (now 4A) 11-0
Mexia beats Diboll 41-7
Kirbyville beats Huffman Hargrave 20-10
Willis (now 4A) tied Needville 21-21 (Willis advances)
Cameron beats Bellville 6-0
Crockett beats Woodville (now 2A) 55-2
Van Vleck (now 2A) beats Cleveland 42-20
Refugio (now 2A) beats C.C. West Oso 30-9
Freer (now 2A) beats Port Isabel 7-6
Rice Consolidated beats Luling 30-0
Cuero beats Sinton 35-7

17-10 at TCU Amon Carter Stadium

Head Coach W.T. Stapler I have seen that picture of that team. Look on the steps under the press box... there is an omen of the future there.:D
