i would say shaka harris of carrollton ranchview ... if he had a better additude towards his team and wasnt lazy in practice and played every play at 110% all the time i think he COULD be the best if he learns to be about the team and play with a passion for it but o well we'll see if he ever changes his views

This prolly isn't the best, but I gotta give the little man from Hallettsville some props...

Paris Brown is a small guy, but a very good running back... he hasn't done too well against Cuero the past couple of seasons, but what he has done against other teams is great considering his size...

As I said, prolly not the best, pretty sure he isn't, but I gotta give the guy some credit...

not to be a homer but banyard and skye green are very good..................snyder has a really good one...can't think of his number or name but he had quite a bit of yards against us i believe.....

Jarmon and Crawford arent bad from Giddings and then you got the horses in Liberty Hill who run everywhere

im not trying to brag but i like our running back Andy Werner he is a incridible athlete he is in the top 10 in the San Antonio Area 5A-1A and he has more yards than a kid that is dedicated to UT i am currently looking for stats i will post if i find any

I really wanna see the Giddings kids play...

Liberty Hill's system is their best RB... but they got the right men for the job, that's for sure...

Actually the best one i think I saw all season was from pecos.. *GASP*.. yep that's right.. The dude had one gear GO!!... It took a quarter figure the playcalling out but man he had to be probably 210 lb maybe to 200... Just kept those feet going and wouldnt stop till he hit turf..

The Problem with Texas is were too BIG..lol... I havent seen one highlight of these other guys from say jasper or cuero But you know they have to be good for the team to do so well..

with the liberty hill system, im curious as to where their RBs are going to college... when you rush for 2000 yards, and are the second or third leading rusher on your team... it says something about a) your team, b) your system and c) the type of athlete you are... with that said, i believe that LH has had 5 great athletes the past 2 years :)

Vernon has a great rushing Fullback in Whiteside. He is big and quick for a fullback.

We have another good back in Zamora but not the best in the state, but he is good.

The back from West Columbia, Jared Flannel, is a good one. Only about 175 lbs. but has a great burst. Loses nothing in pads. Will play D1 on Saturdays, maybe as DB though, & only a junior.

Even though they didn 't have a good week last week, Dale Armand and Derrick Coleman are pretty fast.

1300 yards in 7.5 games, sat the second half of the palacios game out, and didn't play against needville

Jered Flannel from West Columbia. He would be my 1st pick at tailback on any team.

the thread is for the best back in 3a, not who could be the best if this changed or that changeg....if i was younger faster and stronger than i would be the best back......but i did watch Shaka Harris and he was a load to bring down, too bad they didnt have a better season.....

Casey Kocuiba, Matt Escamilla, Nick Schrock. All three Liberty Hill backs with over 3400 yds and 45 tds between them not counting the QB (Brent Bode) who had almost 400 on the ground and 900 passing 10 tds and only 3 ints.

A kind of down year in total numbers for the monster with two of the backs only playing 8 games because of injury and the whole team just 9 because of a game cancelation. An offense that avgd 434 yds on the ground and 522 yds per game and 52 pts makes for a fun show and a nightmare for defenses. Reminds me of the TTech offense when it gets going just twisted around to a ground game instead of the air but one that goobles up as much yards (if not more) per play.

I would take Flannel over anyone that Wharton faced this year. Runs hard, runs downhill, and always falls forward. That is quite an accomplishment for someone listed at 175, and is probably 168 at best.

Good Luck, Columbia. I will see you Thurs.

I don't know if he is THE best in 3a, but Shawnbrey McNeal from Madison can flat out go..... and he's just a junior.

I'll cast my vote for Shawnbrey McNeal, Dallas Madison. He may not have as many yards as some of the others, but that's because (as you've no doubt heard on this site) their OC is less than stellar. This kid can seriously run the ball. He's got amazing speed, the sharpest cutting ability I've seen in a while, and he makes people miss.

I know he's had some big games this year, but Madison's OC is really in love with his spread offense and the quick, short throws. It works for them, but McNeal could have had HUGE numbers if they ran him more.

Yes, Fabien this year has probably produced more than anyone. He does a hell of a job running the ball and has great speed. The tandom of him and Latreal Cooper works very well together. Its just too bad that Latreal had such a bad injury that he has had to recover from. If he was at the speed and level he was as a sophomore, the Cuero running back duo would be almost impossible to take down. If you dont believe me, just go to rivals.com and look up Latreal Cooper in the recruit database. There are videos from when he was only a sophomore and you can judge for yourself.

Whoever plays Dallas Madison in the playoffs will find out real fast who the best running back is.
