Rotan High coach killed in rollover

A Rotan High School coach and a 19-year-old passenger died in a one-car accident early Sunday three miles west of Ballinger on U.S. 67.
Eric Alvarez, 25, an assistant football coach and head baseball coach at the Fisher County high school overcorrected after veering toward the center, and flipped his car seven times, according to the Department of Public Safety, KTXS-TV reported.
Jenna Young of Austin, a passenger, was also killed in the rollover, and another passenger, Crystal Young of Rotan, was taken to a San Angelo hospital for treatment of minor injuries, KTXS reported.
Alvarez was thrown from the vehicle, KTXS reported.
He was a Hardin-Simmons University graduate and a former HSU Cowboy baseball player, said Bob Spikes, Rotan High School principal.
