With 5 secs left on the clock and down 3pts, Chiefs have ball on Oakland 2---Vermeil lays it all on the line and calls handoff up the middle to the running back--and wins the game. Everybody was looking for a quick pass or a field goal to send it into overtime. Dick Vermeil has always been one of my favorite NFL coaches. He works as hard or harder than just about any of the other NFL coaches, even though older than most of them.

good call that paid off. i wonder what all the people of KC would of said if he wouldn't of made it

3AFan, Dick Vermeil treats each of his players like they were a member of his "family"---as a matter of fact he referred to them as "kids" and then corrected himself. I know you are just making an observation, and not making any judgements, but I really like a coach who "cares" for his players. Wimpy for an NFL coach's image?---maybe--but very high on the "good human being" scale, IMO.

I dont think anyone thinks he's wimpy - thats just the way he is! no big deal ...... i heard players really love playin for him

I think you're right, 3AFan. BTW--I always wanted to ask you which 3A team you support, if any?---I know you are a big Forney supporter in 4A.
