Thank you, this same poster has said this before and I just can't justify any Coaches doing such a thing. Our boys played hard that entire game even when they knew there was no coming back. That's the way our Coaches taught them and that's what they did every game. We really appreciate you confirming that since you are from Gilmer.

Region IV
High Expectations ...

Cuero (9-0) -- The No. 1 team all season long.
Liberty Hill (8-2) -- They have the state's best RB tandem of Joe Escamilla and Casey Kociuba.
Devine (8-2) -- Warhorses saddled up for a potentially long ride.
Poteet (9-1) -- Failed to score 30 or more points just twice this season.
Rio Hondo (8-1) -- Sealed a district title with 21-20 OT win over Port Isabel; went 2-4 in district last season.

If things go right ...

Needville (7-3) -- Could double last year's win total with a bi-district win.
Halletsville (6-3) -- Its three losses were by an average of less than a TD.
Port Isabel (4-6) -- After starting 0-5, PI seems to have fully reversed its momentum.
CC West Oso (6-3) -- Every loss was to a playoff team, including ranked teams in Cuero and Sinton.
Sweeny (6-3) -- Read West Oso's write-up.
Llano (7-3) -- Not quite ready for big time (combined loss of 105-31 to Liberty Hill, Wimberley).

Happy just to dance

Orange Grove (5-4) -- Enters playoffs on two-game skid.
Ingleside (5-4) -- Magic number: 40. In all of Ingleside's wins, they scored at least 40 points.
Cotulla (7-3) -- With same record entering 2004 playoffs, Cotulla bowed out in opening round.
Goliad (4-5) -- Every loss was by at least two TDs.
Lytle (5-5) -- Went 2-8 last season and was picked to finish last this season, so making the playoffs is a nice accomplishment.

Texas Football's pick: We see two clear favorites in each half of the bracket: Liberty Hill and Cuero. So we'll make that our regional final. The winner?

We went with our preseason No. 1 in 5A (Southlake Carroll), as we did in 4A (La Marque). The streak stops there. Considering they've scored at least seven TDs in 7 of 10 games, we see Liberty Hill upsetting Cuero to advance to the state semifinals.

Division II predictions:

A quick refresher, we're down to Snyder in Region I, Tatum in Region II, Cameron Yoe in Region III and Liberty Hill in Region IV. Some might be unexpected, but there's only 3 losses between these teams.
Last year, a 3-3A team made a title game (Abilene Wylie). That streak stays alive when Snyder beats Tatum to advance to the finals, where they'll face Cameron Yoe, who uses the pass to beat Liberty Hill's ground attack in a sign of the new power offense in Texas.

But this new offense won't be able to mow down a defense that returned nine starters from last year's state semifinal team. Snyder beats Cameron Yoe for the DII title, giving District 3-3A its second state title in as many years. Texas High School Football

Well they have good size this year on the O and D-line. This is probably the biggest line Madison has had in at least 7 or 8 years. Outside of the center who is about 205-210, they go 245, 275, 290 and 295. I kinda think Corey Bradley and Neko Reed though are over 300 and not 290 and 295, but that's what the program had them listed at earlier this season.

i bet no one picked hutto to make a run for state they suprised everybody by almost beating tatum if it wasent for them few bad calls and fumbles

Tatum_Fan
12-19-2005, 07:04 PM
Hutto was deserving, but it looks tacky when you pose the "what if scenarios"

Did Tatum not have any fumbles?
Bad Calls? Tatum almost shot themselves in the foot during the last drive - the pass interference penalty that gave Hutto a 1st down kept Hutto in it until the very end.

This game was one of the best called games that I have seen in a while - as the way it should be in a State Championship
