Madison - 26 Kennedale - 0

It felt like carnival time Friday night at Pleasant Grove Stadium as Madison made a bold statement to the rest of Texas 3A teams.
"We're going all the way to state and we're gonna win it," Madison defensive end Jarred Price said.
Madison showed it belongs with the elite in its convincing 26-0 win over Kennedale. Madison took control early and put the stranglehold on a very good Kennedale team.
"They're scary good," Kennedale coach Richard Barrett said after the game.
Scary might be a replacement word for confident. Or maybe cocky. Or perhaps other slang terms.
"I think I saw that swagger in our kids' eyes tonight," Madison coach Ronald Johnson said. "We've finally gotten back to Madison football."
Madison (8-1, 3-0 in District 10-3A), which won its first district title since 1991, will play in the Class 3A Division II Region II bracket against a team from District 9 3A to be determined by Friday's outcomes.
Madison junior Shawnbrey McNeil rushed for 182 yards and two touchdowns. The offense, he said, has started to play better over the course of the last four games, and he gave the credit to his offensive line.
"I also told the defense to keep putting me back out there so I could get the ball again," McNeil said.
And his defense didn't disappoint. They stopped two key fourth-down plays, including a goal-line stand late in the game. Greg Jordan intercepted a pass that set up one of McNeil's touchdowns and it got one of its own when Price got one of his six sacks that forced a fumble into the end zone that Josh Valentine recovered to give Madison its 26-0 lead.
"We've really been playing good since the Lincoln game," said Price of his team's only loss this year.
Actually, Madison somewhat resembled Lincoln from a year ago on the final night of the season. With the district championship on the line last year, Lincoln's defense came through for a tough win that set the tone for a march all the way to the Class 4A state championship game. Madison has the same big-play potential and hard-hitting defense like that Lincoln team a year ago.
And on Friday, they showed a swagger and attitude that is otherwise known as being "krunk."
"This is only the beginning of what we're going to do," Price said.
