If Farmersville is the runner up from District 9, then it will be Madison playing them and not Velt.

Fixed, transcription error on my part....the lines on the page start to blur at this hour. And actually, Van Alstyne is the runner up, not Farmersville... fixed that as well.

Man, with Barbers Hill coming down to D 2, Region 3 is really strong this year.

Cameron Yoe, Barbers Hill, Marlin, Jasper and Bridge City. That is going to make for quite a shooting match.

Yeah that is a good five. Any of those teams who match up should be a great game to see.

Question? I thought BH was playing HF no matter if they won or not? If they lose then they are tied with OF ,but HF gets in because they beat OF.

Right now the district standings look like this:
WO-S - 4-0
BC - 4-0
HF - 2-2
HJ - 1-3
OF - 2-3
Anahuac 0-5

The problem is that H-F beat OF by 13 points
AND OF beat H-J by 13 points....

H-J plays H-F today

4 different things could happen:
(1) If H-F wins then they have sole possession of 3rd place and will be the 3rd playoff team

(2) If H-J wins by a 1 to 12 point margin there will be a 3-way tie for 3rd and the point difference would come out with H-F with a positive number, OF with a zero (13 point win + 13 point loss) and HJ with a negative number and H-F would still be the 3rd place team

(3) In the bizarre case that H-J beats HF by exactly 13 points then there would be a 3 way tie in records and in point differential since each of the 3 teams would have beaten one of the other 2 by 13 and lost to the other one by 13. I'm assuming there would be another level of tie-break or a coin toss if that happened....

(4) If H-J wins by 14 points or more, then H-J would have a positive point differential and HF would have a negative number and H-J would be the 3rd place playoff team.

So in theory OF, H-J and H-F are still mathematically in the running

Orangefield won over Anahuac 12-7 I don't know if their is a possibility that the H-J vs H-F game results can put them in the Playoffs----Anyone know the answer to that scenario?

There appears to be one scenario. HJ would have to beat HF by EXACTLY 13 points. This would tie HJ, HF and OF with regard to district record (2-3), head to head records amongst the tied teams (1-1) and point differential (all 3 teams would be at 0).

It is presumed that if they are tied at all of those levels, the tiebreak would be a coin flip for which OF would be even money.

It's the town where Cooper's school is located, a few miles south of Lubbock, just past the "strip".
