At the final four playoffs a bunch of us were sitting on the Yoakum Bulldogs side waiting for their game against Lubbock Cooper. A retired Administrator(possibly pass Superintendent) and John Fling the current Superintendent ask if they could join in and just visit. They kept us intrigued with funny and interesting highlights about their town.
Well they have a baseball team that might well climb the ladder and return to the Playoffs.
Yoakum returns: Seniors Corey Miears, Dallas Hagan, Jeff Nato, Cory Baros, Keith Cuellar and Mathew Stary.
Juniors returning: John Hardin, Aaron Baros, West Pavlicek and Devan Dekowski
They lost their Ace Pitchers to graduation but return Cory Daros 5-0 & Jeff Nato 4-0
The Bulldog will be quite competitive this season.
It is interesting in that seldom do the final four teams have common opponents; however, Yoakum beat Columbus 5-3 and Bridge City played Columbus a best 2-3 in Region III playoffs and won 2-0 & 5-4.
Good sailing to the Bulldogs.
