My vote is for Cleveland. They have had a good season but when they came over to Barbers Hill you could count the fans on two hands.

Cleveland a year ago had a crowd that you couldn't have to use two hands on at home last year v. BH
Tarkington and Splendora aren't much better.

merkel has few fans that ever come........but i guess if you have a 0-9 team its not worth the gas $$ to go to the game!!!

Hempstead - and they probably have smallest at home too. Is a shame has they had a much better team this year.

I felt sorry for Lamesa last week...there were hardly anybody in the stands. If it hadn't been for the band, it would have been dead silence across that field.

Greenwood hasn't packed them in as usual this year either though.....I can't stand "fair weather fans"!

WF Hirschi, more band members than fans.

Yeah, Lamesa has bandwagon fans. In this case it has been so long they traded in their bandwagon for a Radio Flyer. (But they got the one with really big wheels.)

I was really shocked that LH didn't have more fans show up when they played us...but it is a good little ways over.

I guess you are too young to remember when they were one of the top teams in the region between 98 and '00...being ranked as high as 2 in the state when we beat them my senior year in 2000 in the quarterfinals.

It would have to be Cleveland. When they came here a couple of weeks ago they couldn't of had more than 30 people in the stands. I would say the most dissapointed fans will be the ones from Barbers Hill that come to Liberty this friday.

1A Burkeville. I went to a couple of playoff games and they were the opponent twice. Both times the other team had about 500 fans while Burkeville had LESS than 50!!!!

Yeah but what about the parents?
A team so bad the parents dont show.
Lets talk about unconditional love.

smallest crowds

1. Stafford.............(sold 15 pre-sale)
2. Hempstead........(had more band members than fans)
3. Palacios.............(counted a total of 79 people over there- and I think some of those were scouts)

I graduated in '98, which made my last season '97 (in Snyder). We played in Lamesa (still class 4A) and beat them 52-8. If I remeber correctly (since I am so young, jk) there was a total of about 30-40 people in the stands on their side. I was at the Greenwood/Lamesa game last week and they had about the same number. I don't know about the run they had when they first dropped to 3A, but according to what you said, you proved my point.

WF Hirschi hasn't won a game in 3 years. When they played in Vernon this year there were only about 30 to 40 fans. There were more football players than fans and that does say something about some of those player's parents not showing up.

shame on them.

No kidding. West Oso fans could've carpooled in a mini-van.

But you are right their band was awesome. I would've loved to play in that band.

We've been to the playoffs twice in 30+ years. Give us a break.;)
But Ingleside fans have dropped off quite a bit this year. In years past, the Ingleside/AP game was standing room only, but when I talked to D303APP for updates he was saying that there was plenty of room to sit down.

As far as the smallest crowds, Robstown, TX. A baseball town in the purest sense. The town has almost 13K residents, the school has 1K+ students, and out of it all they can't get 50 people to show up for the football games. Anywhere from 15-40 will show up for a home football game on any given Friday night. I covered two of their games when I was working for one of the TV stations down in Corpus and I don't think there was ever a person in the stands who wasn't a sibling or girlfriend of one of the players.

But get out the pit, the meat, and the season tickets for baseball games. Standing room only. For the Calallen @ Robstown game in 2001 the official attendance was 2,800. Standing room only. Kids on their dads shoulders, beers on the wife's head, wife sitting on the railing in front of them. Most people I've ever seen packed into a little bitty baseball stadium, and there were still more people outside watching from roofs and tailgating. 2,800 is more than the average HS football game.

Tarkington has always had alot of fans during their games. We may not be all that good, but we have always had fans in the stands.
