How about this for a tough district??

Abilene Wylie
Sweetwater
Brownwood
Snyder
Clyde
Merkel

the gods would be very unkind to the Badgers and the Eastern Bulldogs with that line up

I dont think that will happen. I dont know if the UIL will allow three teams sharing the district title two years in a row. I dont know though just my opinion.

sorry let me reword that. I dont know if Brownwood would go 3A or not, But I know they wont keep Wylie, the Pony's, or Snyder in the same district anymore. Too much happens with point system and three way ties for district.

Can anyone verify the numbers turned in by Brownwood?

True. But ever since I lived here, Snyder has never stayed in the same area 4 years in a row. Keeping with the same district. Like Wylie used to be with the same teams every year. We either go north or east.

I think If Bwood moves in then they drop Snyder and move them north or west.

injuredinmelee
11-02-2005, 12:47 PM
or 4 would stay the same and Bwood gets moved to Decaturs district. The way the Wood is playing this year I dont think they beat any of the big 3 in the district.

what happend to Bwood, they used to be a power house. Are there numbers down, or are they just hitting a low spot in athletes.

Judging by the last 30 years or so...it's just a low spot in the road. Heck their first 5 games were just about as tough as any other team in the state relative to their competitiong level. Here is their schedule. Their first 4 games are just brutal. Keep in mind that Cooper was playing A LOT better in the first half of the season before they were decimated with injuries right before district.

08/26/2005 7:30PM at BRENHAM HIGH Lost 7-35
09/03/2005 7:30PM ABILENE COOPER Lost 14-21
09/09/2005 7:30PM at ABILENE HIGH Lost 15-17
09/16/2005 7:30PM at STEPHENVILLE Lost 10-49
09/23/2005 7:30PM CLEBURNE Won 45-13
10/07/2005 7:30PM at MIDWAY * Lost 49-59
10/14/2005 7:30PM KILLEEN * Won 33-14
10/21/2005 7:30PM at ELLISON * Lost 34-48
10/28/2005 7:30PM LAMPASAS * Won 35-7
11/04/2005 7:30PM at WACO UNIVERSITY *

because of the travel distance. It would be over 2 hours from Brownwood to Snyder.

The travel distance between Bwood and Snyder is so great. But that hasnt stopped the UIL before however.. )SanAngelo in Amarillo District) Im just specualting. I know personally i would rather not face Bwood in the district race.

MAN IF THAT IS THE DISTRICT CLYDE AND MERKEL ARE IN TROUBLE. I THINK THEY SHOULD BE MOVED INTO A DIFFERENT DISTRICT THAT ISNT FILLED WITH ALL THESE GOOD TEAMS

PlayaJBiehl20
11-02-2005, 02:01 PM
I don't think that Clyde will be in the same district. For one thing, Abilene Wylie might go 4a and Brownwood definitely won't go 3a.

You have to give Clyde credit, they played with Snyder until the second half and only got beat by Sweetwater by 7. Also when they played Breck, it was a game until the 4th.

Go to the uil site and look at the numbers. Bwood 1049 Stephenville 1061. If they drop a lot of other 4a teams will drop as well. I dont think it will happen

UIL doesn't care about travel distance. It's 2 hours or more to three of our district games. If Snyder moves West, the choice is either 3-3a and have to travel to Ft. Stockton & Pecos or 2-3a and go to Muleshoe.

thank you .... and, "guys", the UIL will not look at who has been good in football the past few year in determining the realignment so get that notion out of your heads!

I am very interested to see what the bottom and top numbers will be for 3A this year. Didn't someone say that Wylie turned in 920? What did the rest of the district turn in?

It doesn't matter. "Big school" for '05 playoffs is determined by the numbers that were turned in two years ago for alignment.

I highly doubt the logicality behind this post as Brownwood is 4A and highly unlikely to drop down. Wylie will be 4A next year.... Don't really think there is a chance for this fantasy district.

I bet your wrong on at least one of those. I bet the UIL raises the top and bottom numbers in 3A this year.

that is also a possibilty because there is a belief out there that there will be a shortage of 4A schools at the current number. Will bea fun wait til Feburary!

our teachers/coaches told us we turned in 8 over the 2A count...im not sure what the 2A limit is though...

that is impossible to determine at this date and will only be determined once the 5A, 4A & 3A schools (not enrollemt max & min) are determined ... then, the largest school that is smaller than 3As smallest school becomes 2As largest - then you know the # !

is there anyway that snyder or sweetwater would be in monahans and greenwoods district to give it more competition?? that would be somethin havin monahans and sweetwater in the same district like back in the early 90's....that was some good football

if those schools are grouped it will have nothing to do with the strength of the football programs

They don't???

HMMM, how do you think the little SWC survived so many years when it was more logical for a different mixture of teams, travel-wise etc...???

IF Brownwood slides down, and that's a big IF, I see them going further south. In district with Brady and the likes.
