My daughter is one and she prefers "student trainer"....they do SO much more than hand out water.

She gives treatments, bandages boo-boo's , wraps ankles, etc.

We had 6 but 3 quit.....so we have 3 student trainers and a full time athletic trainer.

All trainers travel with the team.

we have about 6 or 7 student trainers. but what is great they have to go thru first aid classes and first responder classes that are set up for them. then we have a athletic trainer and a doctor on the sideline for every game

We have 4 or 5 waterboys. They are usually little brothers of team members.

To be honest...i went to wylie and played football all 4 years and i have not a clue where that name came from lol...might wanna ask someone from an older wylie generation maybe they might know...but usually there are about 15 or so of them and like 3 girls that are trainers and then "Doc".

We have an Athletic Trainer (fulltime CISD eomplyee) , several student trainers and they do work their butts off, 4 ball and water boys and then also on the sidelines are a Physical Therapist and a PTA along with Dr Hill (the latter 3 are all on their "own time" and have been doing it for years)

i was a athletic trainer, and let me tell you it was nothing easy, you traveled every week, thursday with the jv team, and then friday with varsity, and in my case i then had to be back up at the crack of dawn for cross country the next morning.......and that was after both jv and varsity football practices

We have a few kids that come down on the field and help hand out water during the game. Then we a have 3 student trainers that do everything from give out water to tape ankles to whatever needs to be done. 3 managers that are like the gophers of the team. They do what their told. A certified trainer who is a full time employee of the school and the local doctor who has been the team doctor for lord knows how long.

We have 10 student athletic trainers and a full time certified/licensed athletic trainer. The students do water and a lot of the first aid type stuff and the athletic trainer takes care of the evaluations and such. Hard to believe their are 3A schools around that don't have a full time athletic trainer. No matter what they think, coaches don't know enough about sports medicine to do a trainers job.
