So, if VT beats Miami this weekend....are the chances pretty good that they'll move up to #2??

I think a lot will depend on how USC and Texas do. I think if they both win and VT wins I think VT will make some gain but I think they will still be at No. 3. But if VT wins the ACC championship game I think it will be a very close race for the No. 2 spot. But that is in the future. Still more games to play.

V-tech has a few more Ranked games, Texas doesn't. If v-tech does really well the next few, it could be another screw job.

No. The gap is too wide. And plus, Miami will win. :D

This was expected. No one here is upset about this. The computers still have us at #1 and love us.

if not for Miami, VT would have past up Texas in The BCS poll, But Miami will make sure VT is no longer top 5.

I am the worlds biggest Miami fan this week. IF Vtech wins the east coast bias will screw the horns.

That's what I'm afraid of. And VT does not look near the caliber team that Texas is (not counting the first half against OSU).

But here's the deal--

If VT does beat Miami, it's still not a big deal. Because Texas has the most wins over BCS top 25 teams at 4. We beat Ohio State, Colorado, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma.

So we'd still be in good, albeit not great, shape.

Nevertheless, I still think VT is going to lose.

Texas should be ok as long as they win by the expected margin and OU,Colorado, Texas Tech and ohio st. keeps winning.

They're every bit as good as their ranking. IMO, they're the most complete team in the nation. I'm not calling them the outright best, just means the team with the fewest weaknesses.

VaTech can still pass up UT. They still have #5 Miami, @ Virginia, UNC (Virginia's damn good this year, UNC's tougher than 90% of the Big XII), and if they win all of these, the ACC title game where they'll likely face #8 Florida State. IF (big if) they win all these games, they'll have the best SOS by far of any of the undefeated teams and will probably overtake UT in some of the polls used for the BCS rankings. That could screw Texas.

I'd hate to say it, but if VaTech wins out I think they screw Mack and co. out of a championship shot.

The only thing Texas can do is keep winning. Ain't no sense worrying about what the other teams are doin. Just win and let the football politics handle the rest and hope they are in they're favor.

yeah but for texas, JUST WINNING OUT does not that much at all.....they need to win these games by landslides like they are predicted to....they cant ever start off like they did against osu last week...

And USC fans are already starting the hate on their forums/BBS. It's really...well I can't say what it really is for fear that my adjective would upset some folks.

ESPN has too much control and Gameday has an agenda....

If all three teams, all be it maybe even four, go undefeated, corso and crew want to see a tu/usc national title game, and they will get their wish.....

even if va. tech. does win out. i don't think they jump texas, because they are media darlings, and are overrated....

USC is a legitimate no. 1, no doubt...but why did vince have 500 yards against OSU, because they keep in him WAYYYYYYY to long.....

but then again i can understand that, because matt nordgreen is terrible...i'm so glad we got mcgee....

by the way, Vince was kept in so that he could lead a comeback of epic proportions taht almost singlehandedly made an example of this:

Matt Leinhart + Reggie Bush = Vince Young
