I'd have to say the Marlin Bulldogs with
#4 Danario Alexander
#15 Benny Jones
#12 Kenny Evans

They made big plays without starting qb Jeremy Sanders

Maybe it was just me, but when we played ya'll it seemed like the Jeremy show for both teams. Course, we only played a half and I'm sure there were some good pass plays that I'm just forgetting about.

I would also have to go with the Bulldogs but the Jasper Bulldogs. this is our stats but our last game with 4 passing TD is not on here. notice we use a lot of receivers: notice the yards per catch.

Sean Weatherspoon- 14 receptions, 275 yards, 19.6 yards per catch, 3 tds

Josh Adams- 9 receptions, 296 yards, 32.9 yards per catch, 2 tds

Fred Stoneham- 8 receptions, 138 yards, 17.25 yards per catch

Jeremy Pinkney- 6 receptions, 74 yards, 12.33 yards per catch, 1 td

Terrance Scott- 2 receptions, 96 yards, 48 yards per catch, 1 td

Taylor Hart- 1 reception, 29 yards, 1 td

Josh Hadnot- 1 reception, 19 yards, 1 td

Tim Good- 1 reception, 4 yards

Travon Limbrick- 1 reception, 2 yards

Good but not good enough
Marlin receiver stats

Player, School Rec Yds Avg TD

4 Denario Alexander, Marlin 36 528 14.7 5
12 Kenny Evans, Marlin 24 507 21.1 5
15 Benny Jones, Marlin 22 555 25.2 10

Not saying this is the best, just giving stats...

Not including this week, here is the Cuero core:

Tre Gray - 498 yds
Justin Wesley - 288
Quincey Whittington - 166
Brandon James - 104
Corey Scott - 102
JT Rudd (cubbed_up) - 78

Dunno the stats of everyone else...

All but Brandon James added yards to their totals this week... JT Rudd at Tight End is up to 100 now, Gray and Wesley added a bunch, Q may have added a few, and Brandon James has not played the last two weeks (but in the playoffs I expect to see him being a main target, don't wanna give his routes away I guess is why we're not going to him)...

Those are great numbers, but what if Marlin runs into a team with a good secondary and a good core of linebackers? They know ya'll primarily throw to only 3 guys where as Jasper throws to like 5 I believe. Is Jasper even a passing team? I don't know much about them.

Heck yah our receivers can block, a big reason we hung 48 on Sealy...

They can hold too, they don't like people getting past them :D :p ;)

Barbers Hill has a good receiving corp. Mason Fisher and Cedric Moore are two of the best around.

i know i feel stupid saying this but id have to say sinton...cuz it doesnt show but there is a lot of depth there...theres big Burke dawg when we throw deep he comes up big and then isaac rendon is probably the best underneath reciever in south texas...then with the power of zach and goetzel and freddie on the outside nad the speed of jacob...but daniels favs are isaac and burke and theyre in the top 10 for south texas

No Jasper isn't a passing team per se. We run the spread and truly spread the ball around. Passing more of late than what I have seen us do in the past. I have to admit Jasper does have some very talented receivers.

You may have hung 48 on sealy but i know you remember how that game was really played. Who went in at halftime winning that game. Cuero's head coach told me that the team watchs the ceuro vs. sealy film at least once a week. Sealy had to have made some type of impression on that team and its coaching staff.

My God man....how old are these stats.......i know for a fact Tim Good had at least two catches in the game against shepherd. Not to mention what everyone else did.

Did you just say halftime? I was talking about the game as a whole... you know, the reason they play the game AFTER halftime (hint UT/Okie State the last 3 games)...

I was just knocked the Sealy guy... Sealy played their hearts out...

He mocked us guys posting stats and I ripped back...

Bark, there you go again trying to confuse them with your stats. :p

They are interested in only one stat, Jasper has lost 3 games already this year. Don't count on them doing much this year.

Gentlemen, gentlemen, here is your best receiving core in the state, from the Canyon Eagles (yea, homer, so what)

Peddy, Can 60 832 14.1 8

Franklin, Can 49 807 17.5 6

Bressler, Can 34 793 24.1 12

Pittillo, Can 20 205 10.4 1

Anyone every seen three 1,000 yd receivers on a single high school team? Its possible. I dare anyone to show me stats better than that, since that seems to be the basis of our opinions here.;) And we do block too, it's high on the priority list, right next to catchin!

The Buckeyes have a good set of WR's.
Sorry that I don't have the stats as of now.

Willie Darden
Curtis Brown
Justin Ashley
Patrick Tefteller
Lamont Harris

Just to name a few. We have like thirty of them.;)

Let's see, a 5 yard TD run and a 3 yard TD run were up the middle... correcto...

But the longest run by Cooper, though it started up the middle, was ran mostly outside 5 yards past the line of scrimmage, the receivers must have been blocking or something outside...

I gotta go with Canyon. Their top 3 rec are #3, 4, & 5 in the state on the THSCA stat page.

Top 4 Rec's

2629 Yards
27 TD's

As for the QB, 27 TD passes and 1 INT

In D-30 both Ingleside and Sinton have good corps. Probably not the best in the state, but I'd be willing to bet that little 'ol Hearne has a better WR corps than anyone in 3A.

They're the only team I've gone to see this year, but they have some quick guys and some big guys. Their best WR is probably in the 6'4" range and lines up at TE, WR and everywhere on defense. Deceptive speed. You see him run, you think 4.8-4.9. You see him compared to the other guys on the field, you realize he's a legit 4.5. Can take off past corners and can overpower LB's. How's that for a wideout?

They have another guy who's a little shorter but quick as hell and is just as dangerous to go along with a solid #3 WR. Their #3 would probably be a starter on Ingleside's squad.

That 6'4" kid is going to make some D-I college team very happy. They just have to find him out in the middle of nowhere. The #2 guy could easily start for a D-II school.
