Yes Snyder beat Wylie, but they lost to Sweetwater who lost to Wylie...so right now there really is no way to "correctly" rank those 3...anyway I rank those 3 I am screwed...

Wylie plays what everyone concidered an absolutely terrible mental game and barely loses by 3 to Snyder. Why would Snyder jump ahead of them? Everyone has a bad day everynow and then. I personally don't think SW should be ranked above Wylie. Their game looked like a well played one and the score wasn't even close (no offense SW fans). But I know how hard the ranking job can be Matt...and I think you do a good job of it.

Honestly, I do not believe that OC has ever stepped outside of Region 3...

I remember a few weeks back he posted that Burnet had won the the state championship... when I told him they had not, he said "I don't pay attention to Region 4 anyway", or something to that effect...

I believe that goes beyond just Region 4, though...

It is one thing to have pride in your Region, but another to be blinded by your own pride...

Guys OC always tries to rile me up...I remember when Jasper first dropped to 3A and he annointed them the 3A state champs and then made excuses when they were rolled by Burnet
I am assuming he wants me to drop Canyon, Decatur and Monahans out....but what have those 3 done that warrants them to be dropped???

Decatur has lost 2 games...Gainesville and Abilene Wylie....no shame there....

Canyon's one loss was to a 4A school...and last year I believe they were 11-1 losing only to Abilene Wylie..

Monahans is unbeaten.....what else do you want....granted Rice is a team who maybe should be in the top 25 but no team IMO has done anything to be dropped...

I resent the post by Big Daddy Russ--these are not my words yet he attributes them to me as a "quote".
That is dirty pool--I don't use statements like "Aw Hell," and other off-color language on here and try not to call people idiots and such.
Yes, I can be caustic and sometimes I hack folks off--but those that really know me know that I am just passing the time of day on here.
There are two things I don't like and one is falsely making a "look-like quote" by anyone on anyone--- and talking really badly about children(boys or girls) by name and/or playing position.

Yeah, deja voodoo! Snyder pulls out the win in the last minutes of the game for the second year in a row. Weird, ain't it? BTW, I don't think the claim is from a Wylie poster. I was at the game and I don't see how anyone CAN'T give the Snyder defense credit for the win.

look, when it comes to the state championship, the only reason somebody out of region 3 doesnt win is because we actually have competition in the playoffs. you could play the #9 team in state first round, then turn around and have to play the #5 team in the second round. people get beat up physically and the chances to lose get greater. i don't care what you west texas and panhandle people say, region 3 is the most dangerous region to be in because you have to play at such a higher level...most of the other regions have a cake walk untill the quarterfinals or even semis. i guarantee that if gilmer would have been in region 3, they would not have won the championship

Yeah, your right ~ Snyder's defense didn't cause any of Wylie's mistakes. Yeah right. Maybe Wylie made so many mistakes and turnovers because they were forced by Snyders defense. That sounds a little better. ;) .

Well let me just get up on mine then... Surely u don't think I care how old he is in reality. I also think it's great for a student to be interested and involved in his or her High School Sports programs, the point of being obsessed with a team 20yrs past I'm not quite getting maybe your addressing someone else. I don't have a child on the Tiger Team but I do have 2 in High School and 2 that have already graduated, over the years there have been lots of kiddos in and out of my house, including alot of the Team members past and present. Therefore I'm not living vicariously thru my teenagers I'm just a huge parent/tiger supporter. I know what these kids have gone thru to put this Tiger team back on the map. This post had nothing to do with respecting your elders, or addressing race, sex or whatever else you couldn't think of off the top of your head. The fact of the matter is most of his prior post constantly tell us that we (Snyder Tigers) have nothing to be proud of and that our team is no good and that we never deserved anything that we achieved. My point to him is "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and thats us the Tiger Fans. But if he wants to continue to make these remarks then I feel he is old enough to get some dished back to him. Ya know you get as good as you give on the D-low so if your gonna speak it be ready to hear it. Maybe you should look back on all his post before you decide to respond to only one. :)

Who? does not represent the majority - or at least that is what I believe. I know things have been said between Sweetwater, Snyder and Wylie - always have beed said and I'm sure will continue to be said. Afterall, isn't that why we come to downlow?

Now, it's time for my soapbox. I am going to say this as a PARENT - not just a Wylie Mom but a parent... I do not want to believe there is any team out there in the vast world that doesn't have proud parents and fans supporting them. Yes, there are some that go WAAAAAY overboard - every, EVERY team has them... usually it's a small group that somehow manages to represent the rest of us.

SO, as for living thru out kids - yes as parents we do. One day Who? you'll understand. There are parents that "LIVE" their childrens lives and dreams...but once again you have grouped ALL of us together wtih your post.

Snyder, Sweetwater and Wylie (with the exception we beat Clyde) are tied for the playoffs....and at this point, as a district we should be proud of the teams that represent and hope they go as far as they can.

Just as other parents - I do not have a kid on the team. But, I know many of them and I'm very proud of them and I hope - they go as far as they can and yes I will be in the stands. And for the record - I have NEVER played football so no I do not think I am living a for a team of 20 yrs ago. Actually, I wasn't into football 20 yrs ago!

Now, I shall step down from my box!

look, when it comes to the state championship, the only reason somebody out of region 3 doesnt win is because we actually have competition in the playoffs. you could play the #9 team in state first round, then turn around and have to play the #5 team in the second round. people get beat up physically and the chances to lose get greater. i don't care what you west texas and panhandle people say, region 3 is the most dangerous region to be in because you have to play at such a higher level...most of the other regions have a cake walk untill the quarterfinals or even semis. i guarantee that if gilmer would have been in region 3, they would not have won the championship
SO, if region 3 is this tough, why didn't they win state. They had to have lost to I guess a lesser team to have not been there to beat Gilmer.

Apparently some people don't think to highly of west Texas football. I'm sorry to tell you that the reason Gilmer won state last year was because they were awesome. And if you are saying that Snyder, Wylie, and Sweetwater don't have state potential then maybe you should rethink how much you actually know about football, because these 3 teams beat up on each other pretty good during the regular season and Wylie still won a state championship.

Very true, and SNyder very well could have too if we didn't get shell shocked in Texas stadium, and Sweetwater as well, if Snyder hadn't beaten them.

if you would have read my post completely, it said that region 4 has HAD burnet. It didn't say anything about them still being there.

You are taking what I say out of context and reading it as if it were directed straight towards you (this is to xwyliemom and witcheywoman). I wasn't trying to diss anyone on here. The only point I was trying to make was to disregard age; not trying to offend anyone. And for clarification, "living through your children's lives" wasn't referring to being proud of their accomplishments and such but rather constantly trying to get into the "drama" of high school and stuff like who's dating who and whatnot. Grrr...I digress. Witchy if you don't care about age then why even bring it up in your posts? Your entire post was focused on 07's age. That's the only thing I was trying to say.

I knew it wasn't you either..and agree he shouldn't forge a post and act as if it was you. Even though you are an eccentric old coot when it comes to region III stuff I enjoy the friendly banter.

Hmm....so tell me, how does this relate to the top 25? :D J/K This has been entertaining to say the least!

You made some good points Witchywoman...I don't have a relative on the team, nor did I play. I'm simply a fan of the Tigers and try to support them where ever they go.

OMG, HOW OLD ARE SOME OF YOU PEOPLE??? I LIKE A LITTLE TRASH TALKING BUT WHEN PEOPLE START BICKERING OUT OF CONTEXT, I GET AGGITATED. LET THE BOYS DO THE TALKING COME PLAYOFF TIME.

But a little "trash talking" if fine before then, just don't bicker at one another like 4 yr olds!

Sorry guys, I thought it was funny and I'm pretty sure everyone knew I was kidding around. I put BC in there like two or three times. If you can have a little fun on here why can't I?

Didn't mean to ruffle your feathers. I guess if it bothered you that much I'll send you some Pepto and a tutu. :D

Tell you what. I'll cut you some slack if you give us your top 25.

Aug. 18 Kermit - WEAK
Aug. 26 Merkel - Has not won a game
Sept. 2 OPEN
Sept. 9 Andrews - Has won 1 game
Sept. 16 Midland Christian - OH SERIOUSLY
Sept. 23 Brownfield - WEAK
Sept. 30 Colorado City - 2A playing a 3A should have won
Oct. 7 Ft. Stockton - WEAK
Oct. 14 Lames - WEAK
Oct. 21 Seminole - Best Team They have played
Oct. 28 Pecos - Have no clue so must be Weak
Nov. 4 Midland Greenwood - Next Best Team they will play

Put Snyder, Sweetwater, Wylie through that schedule and it's and undefeated season ladies and gentlemen. But lots of credit for maybe going 10- 0 any of those teams could have upset them very easily. Good Luck To all in the Playoffs.

Not taking anything away from Monahans, but you have to put together a more competative schedule than that. Maybe I am wrong, I know of a few on that schedule that aren't what they used to be, but then there are some that i don't know if they are good or not.
