well I'll just be durned :eek:
"when" da Mules beat Littlefield next week, that will knock the Wildcats out of the playoffs. Levelland will go D1, Cooper DII 1st seed, Muleshoe DII 2nd.

It's hard to believe that Levelland is in the playoffs.

in a 5-team district, you only have to win 2 games to be in the running. Not the best situation, but a lot of the old 2-3a district is now in class 2a.

2-3a "should" finish:

Lubbock Cooper 4-0 DII 1st seed
Muleshoe 3-1 DII 2nd seed
Levelland 2-2 DI
Littlefield 1-3
Brownfield 0-4

"If" da Mules don't handle Littlefield, 3 teams would finish 2-2.
this would be a mess... Muleshoe beat Levelland 41-10; Levelland beat Littlefiedl 34-23. I think da Mules would get the tie-breaker unless Littlefield beat them by at least 12 points, and Levelland would get the 3rd spot beating Littlefield head-to-head.

most districts handle 3 ways with a 14 point system
if your scores are correct it should be as follows:
mules +14
lobos -3
cats -11

so littlefield beats muleshoe by 9 they are a - 2 which would knock the lobos out

has anyones paper printed the playoff scenerio, surely you would not coin flip to determine a 3 way tie. does the cats have a chance?

Yea, they have a chance, but they have to win by 12 or more against muleshoe, which isn't very likely at all. Yes, da mules, we would rather play levelland, but you never know, levelland came out much stronger in the first round last year compared to the regular season.

hard to figure Levelland... they darn near beat Sweetwater and then we blew them out the next week. I will vouch that they can run the short passing game very well... they ought to do it more

so, any predictions on the d2 brackets in region 1 ... looks like most matchups are set, unless there are any huge upsets in the region this week.

CATS ARE ALWAYS DANGEROUS NO MATTER WHAT THE RECORD. ADDED TO THAT NOW THEY HAVE TO WIN OR STAY HOME SHOULD BE A HARD FOUGHT GAME.
