Wow that is surprising

I didn't turn it on until it was 7-0, but it really sounds like both defenses are having trouble tonight. After Liberty scored, Huffman drove down and kicked a FG, Liberty responded with a TD, and now Huffman is driving down the field pretty efficiently...

Huffman scores and gets the PAT. Liberty 14, Huffman 10 with about 10:00 left in the second quarter.

GS#17

Liberty responds with a big pass play (62 yards). Liberty 21, Huffman 10 with 9:06 left in the first half.

is it being webcast?

GS#17
10-28-2005, 08:13 PM
Yeah, but it's kind of hard to hear because they're doing a "split broadcast" with Dayton's game. Check out www.KSHN.com for the game.

GS#17

Huffman driving downfield, but the game is in a break due to failure of some of the stadium lights...

GS#17
10-28-2005, 08:25 PM
LOL... Now the lights are out and the sprinklers are on.

Now I have seen the lights go out .................. but sprinklers on ?????

GS#17
10-28-2005, 08:29 PM
It was weird... The game was stopped for about 15 minutes, and the endzone sprinklers came on. They've finally got everything going again. I imagine whoever put the sprinkler switch next to the light switch is going to get a good talking to... :D

GS#17
10-28-2005, 08:31 PM
It really slowed down Huffman. They were moving the ball very well, but lost all their momentum with the stoppage and turned the ball over on downs.

10-28-2005, 08:35 PM
the old lights and sprinkler trick,,, hate that one;)

GS#17
10-28-2005, 08:38 PM

Wow, So if Huffman loses,....

GS#17
10-28-2005, 09:40 PM
If Huffman loses, they'll need to beat Cleveland next week to have a chance to make the playoffs. Otherwise, it could be WOS meeting Barbers Hill in Rd. 1...

GS#17
10-28-2005, 09:40 PM
Huffman takes the second half kickoff, drives down the field, and kicks a 37 yard FG to close the gap. Liberty 21, Huffman 13.

GS#17
10-28-2005, 09:54 PM
Huffman forces a turnover and then drives the ball down the field to score a TD, but the 2 point conversion is no good.

Liberty 21, Huffman 19 with about 1:46 left in the 3rd quarter.

GS#17
10-28-2005, 10:03 PM
Huffman scores on a 65-yard pass play (the old hook-and-ladder). The 2 point play is good!

Huffman 27, Liberty 21

GS#17
10-28-2005, 10:18 PM
Huffman forces another turnover, kills some clock, but misses a 42 yard FG. Liberty's ball with about 5:30 minutes left in the game.

GS#17
10-28-2005, 10:31 PM
Liberty scores a TD with 1:22 left in the game and kicks the go-ahead PAT, but a flag for illegal procedure takes the point off the board. The second PAT attempt is also good...

Liberty 28, Huffman 27

GS#17
10-28-2005, 10:33 PM
Liberty squibs the kickoff; Huffman takes over at their own 37 with 1:14 left in the game.

GS#17
10-28-2005, 10:37 PM
Huffman connects on a long pass, which takes them to the Liberty 31, and then an 8 yard pass. About 0:45 left in the game...

The kick is way short... 0:25 left in the game.

It wont matter for us unless they lose to Cleveland

Wow, heck of a game......I am curious now to who would play who starting out in the playoffs?

Hupernikomen

Liberty won 28-27.

Since Cleveland Beat Liberty, Huffman will have to beat Cleveland by more than 1 to get into the playoffs. Or beat Cleveland and Liberty beat BH.

What this means is that it is highly probably that BH will be the Division I representative for our district and face WO-S in the first round.

I don't think Huffman can beat Cleveland..but on any given friday you just never know.

BC has already put it on Liberty pretty bad at the start of the year, but they may be playing better ball now

This BH team is far better than the Huffman team that humbled WO-S last year. I am sure that WO-S is much improved as well...but I doubt very seriously that BH will be in the least bit intimidated by WO-S. Been a few years since WO-S really had it rolling. I hope I get to see this one if it happens. I might even skip a 1st Round Jasper game to sit with Jody and RBarker and the fellas for a BH/WO-S matchup.

Ok here is the 23-3A district race in a nut shell

How does that work out? If BH beats Liberty, that would make BH undefeated and Liberty would have two losses (BH and Cleveland); Cleveland would have two losses (BH and Huffman); and Huffman would have two losses (BH and Liberty). From the looks of that, it would be a 3-way tie.

I'm assuming your district will go by point differentials in the case of a 3-way tie. In that case:

Liberty would finish at a -13 (14 point loss to Cleveland; a 1 point win over Huffman); Cleveland is at a +14 (14 point win over Liberty); and Huffman is at a -1 (1 point loss to Liberty). In that case, if Huffman wins, they're in and Liberty is out...

You missed one thing in your nutshell.
Should Huffman beat Cleveland and Barbers Hill beat Liberty it will look like this because of district tie breaking rules
Barbers Hill D2
Huffman D1
Cleveland D2

Hupernikomen

The order will be:

District Champ
5-0 Barbers Hill Div. I Representative
They will beat Liberty like a red-headed stepchild Friday.

Div II Representatives

#1 Representative
Cleveland 4-1
They will handle Huffman by two TDs. The Indians are gaining confidence fast. The destroyed Splendora 46-14. Splendora has played everyone else in district a very good game. Falcons are in trouble.

#2 Representative
Liberty 3-2
Though they will get trounced by BH they always seem to find a way to scrap their way into the playoffs.

Sorry AJ Liberty doesn't compare very well to the team they had last year, and BH is much better IMO. But you never know. BH has been bitten a lot my penalties and other mistakes of late, so it could happen.
